Dilfer:I was wrong about the Patriots

never doubt BB

he is the GOAT

"I made the mistake I hate making in this job, and that’s knee-jerk reacting to what you see in real time and not thinking about who you are saying it about," Dilfer said Monday in backpedaling from his comments following that Kansas City game

I give Dilfer credit. He called himself out and admitted that his analysis was wrought with flawed logic. He didn't have to do this.

Even though he is an entertainer, he wants to be taken seriously as an analyst. To me, that shows he cares about what comes out of his mouth and what people think of his insights and he is not just there to collect a paycheck.

Props to Dilfer for owning up to it. That's a rarity. His comments however were right on the money this time, and it is something many poster's in this forum were completely missing as well. The Patriots are always a developmental team and always play their best football down the stretch, they are not a start strong and fade away team, they get better each week over the course of the season. that deosn't mean they will always be the best team in the league in february but it does mean you can count on them to make a play-off run pretty much every season. i don't know if they will be the best team in the league when all is said and done this year but there's no doubt that those who wrote them off were once again dead wrong and they will be wrong hen they do it again next year, aand the year after that, etc... etc..., because in truth i have been seeing Patriot fans write this team off pretty much every season since 2008 ended. And it is always the same story, Brady is not the QB he once was, Belichick sucks at the draft, the Patriots won't bring in the big free agents, Brady has no weapons....blah, blah, blah, blah.

I never cease to be amazed by the Patriot fans who write them off every season, are proven wrong every season, yet come back with the same spew the next season. Some people are so dense they never get it, and Yes, that means you Ron, as well as a bunch of others (and you know who you are)

Let's just keep on rolling, it's only a Week 9 win.

Who cares what outside people say? We watch this team every week, talk about them every day, and analyze all their games. Most of us know the strengths and weaknesses of this team, and I think it's safe to say Brady/Gronk was never a weakness, they just needed to get going ... they are proven in this league. Not a single person here should of broke down because the Pats had 1-2 bad games to START the season.

Let ESPN stick to their scripts, they have ALWAYS been full of ****.

I give him props for admitting he was wrong..

But the fact that he came right out and said "this is not a good team" still resonates in my mind. I won't forget that from here on out when it comes to him and his analysis.

Somehow a worse analyst than quarterback.

what trent said about gronk was so disrespectful. he said gronk was an old man in a young mans body a few weeks ago. i think dilfer forgot that gronk was coming back from a major injury, and that it takes time to regain form...

Somehow a worse analyst than quarterback.

not everyone can be as good as steve young!

worst analyst by far is ray lewis. i hate how espn shoves him down our throat. he's on sunday nfl countdown then they fly him to which ever city the monday night game is in...

More than that he 'accused' the team of only worrying about putting people in seats and not exactly winning a SB. I dont mind he said they were bad and think they might not be good. Thats his opinion from what he saw on the field. But to infer the owners are doing something like this is stupid and over dramatic to garner attention.
