Did suspicion really start Nov vs Colts, or was it a tip from Ravens?

Something I saw in the Reiss mailbag: How would Patriots deflate the footballs in the Nov game in Indy? McNally wouldn't be carting the balls - probably does not even travel with the team, right? So how would Pats deflate the footballs in away games? How likely is it that suspicions started there?

On the other hand, it is known that the Ravens complained about kicking balls after the playoff game. Throw in the eligible/ineligible business that they were furious about, and it is hard to believe that they are not the source of all this. Incredible that they have slipped away from any discussion about all this.

If you read the report, it is clear it didn't start in Indy, and that it was the Ravens who tipped the Colts.

There was a big to do about allowing the Colts to rub the kicking balls prior to the game.

yeah, I really wondered who the axe grinder was, but it must've been harbaugh in their ear.

and grigson would be pretty receptive --- he was with the rams when we upset them in that superbowl, then a bit later he moved over to philly.
and who do you think beat them in the sb that year?

so, later on he gets this gig in indy, luck is his qb, everything's looking great, and the pats knock them out of the playoffs and humiliate the team in 3 games with an average winning margin of about 30

I'd imagine grigs is about fed up with the pats

In a sting you need to something to set up a reasonable suspicion. The Colts used "the balls felt soft and you know the chatter around the league" BS. That was all Kensil and crew needed to put the plan in action.

Who cares. It's not like Bob has the sack to pay them back and the league wouldn't punish them anyway.
