I would hope we contacted him (we'd have been remiss otherwise), however it sounds more like the writer is implying that the Broncos did.

It doesn't bother me if he does. Peyton Manning is guaranteed to choke at some stage of the NFL Playoffs. Hopefully it is in, or before, the AFC Championship this season.

FWIW, even after forcing the Falcons to cut him by refusing to file for retirement, he still hasn't filed, which leads me to believe that if the situation is right for him, he'll sign with the team he feels has the best chance, late in the season.
