After tonight's performance, I hope McCourty grows some balls and tells Belichick that he won't be playing CB.

What's Bill going to do? Cut him after giving him that new contract?

Seems we have quite a few defensive backs with limited physical ability and severe deficiencies in man to man coverage, that get covered up by putting them at safety instead of corner. I don't like it. I think our secondary is very vulnerable this year. Just my opinion.

We need to draft taller, faster, longer, and better at corner/safety

you need to cut McCourty , and trade us for swan, hes awful

This is a nothing story which is going to become a big deal and now our local media next week will bash the Coach and team as usual for messing with its players and cite all those ty law, milloy seymour examples.
Just a few snaps in pre season but lets make it a story. McCourty for no reason complaining before the season doesnt help either. If he has to complain, do it to bill. Dont do it in the media.

Their are a lot of questions at CB. Players have moved up and down on the depth chart in Training Camp and Pre Season. I think more and more we are starting to see who is consistent and who isn't. I am starting to feel ok with...

- CB1 Butler - Their is nobody on the current roster that will replace Butler. I believe he is an above average CB1 in the NFL
- CB2 Fletcher - He is a solid CB2. He is not flashy but won't make many glaring mistakes either. He had a great PD on 3rd and 3 last night. That was a huge play. He is consistent and has good size. I think some of the moving around of players there last night was not a knock on Fletcher. IMO BB already thinks Fletcher will be the starter at CB2. IMO Fletcher is an above average CB2 in the NFL
- CB3 Brown (slot) - IMO we got a steal with Brown for CB3. I think nickel is perfect fit and an upgrade to Arrington. He will be a great leader there.

I am comfortable with the level of talent and experience at those 3 positions. McClain and Roberts are not a bad CB4 and CB5 either.

Going forward...I want to see them at those positions in practice and game situations. They need more time there to start to mesh with each other...

CB1 - Butler
CB2 - Fletcher
CB3 - Brown
FS - McCourty
SS - Chung
