Listening to WFAN here in New York, and the Jets-loving hosts and callers were saying stuff like, hey, even if we wind up 10-6 and out of the playoffs, it's been a great year.

I would have thought that about the Pats too... back in the early seventies. Dang, we are fortunate fans.

Back in 02, and we went 9-7, i was (still am) saying, we just lost the wrong game (holds true for 08 as well)

Nice approach here not including ties--that always makes it a million times more complicated than it needs to be. Much better just to have a * and say "in case of tie, all hell breaks loose."

Yeah, I've been watching Boomer and Carton on WFAN this morning. These guys are hilarious about the Jets. They're even funnier talking about Eli Manning. Holy s###, talk about revisionist history...

In other seasons a chart like that might be useful, but this season isn't one of them. The NFC is locked up (including the seeding) and the AFC is as close as it can get with 3 weeks left. Like most everything else that Fraudger sets his "mind" to, parity is non-existent.

For me, the regular season will be over and I'll know who's in and who's out before I could digest all of that! I'll just wait.

Can someone explain this one to me:

Tied Teams Extra conditions (all must occur) Winner Why?
NE-CIN
CIN beats SF NE common opponents
NE-CIN CIN loses to SF CIN conference record

Why would losing be better for the bengals than winning?

Read the last column it tells you the answer

And actually, Bret Favre lost the wrong game. in '02 Favre led Packers lost to Jets in last week, and in '08, Favre led Jets lost last week, both eliminating Pats from post season.

Because if Cincy loses to SF means Pats would have to lose 2 games and finish tied at 12-4. Cincy would be 10-2 in Conf and Pats would be 9-3.

The person who did forgot to put the final record needed for the scenario and what needs to happen for the Pats to end up tied.
