In Focus: Despite missing Jets contest, RB Dion Lewis still leads Patriots in offensive touches

Since the season began, Christopher Price of WEEI has been tracking “offensive touches" -- a running tally of offensive skill position players who are getting the most looks. It's supposed to be a good barometer of how confident the coaches (and quarterback) are when it comes to the skill position players at their disposal.

Despite the fact that he was sidelined against the Jets (and saw only limited action in the Colts game) Dion leads the team with 66 touches (40 carries, 26 catches), and is only one of six players in the NFL to have at least 40 carries and 25 catches to this point in the season. He's also only one of three players with at least 200 yards rushing and 200 yards receiving.

On an unrelated note, Amendola is undergoing a kind of transformation. In his last 16 games — including last year’s playoffs and the start of the 2015 regular season — he's had 57 catches for 621 yards and 5 touchdowns! Just watch...he's gonna be a beast this season!

No Defense have figured out how to stop us with Dion Lewis the Jets were lucky that they didn't have to Game Plan for him lets hope Miami isn't so lucky. Lewis puts so much pressure on the Defense from the RB position he reminds me of Cincinnati's Giovani Bernard. Bad enough the Defense have to worry about Gronk - Edelman now Amendola add in LaFell...you cannot cover everybody. This Offense is clearly better than 2007's baring injuries.
