Deflategate wasn't the first time a Wells NFL investigation reached beyond the evidence to find scapegoats for Goodell. Back in 2013 it was the Miami Dolphins locker room with Richie Incognito and Jonathon Martin in "Bullygate". Wells concluded that it wasn't just the fault of Incognito for harassing Martin, but the coaches and the trainers for letting it happen.

Now former Dolphins trainer Kevin O'Neill is suing the Dolphins organization, and Goodell is trusted with appointing an arbitrator over that suit.

The latest updates I could find on those cases were early September. It's now December, and it's possible we'll never hear how those cases go at all.

Is wells going to investigate Peyton now?
