If there was anything to framegate karma, it would be happening to Kensil, Vincent, Pash, Goodell, Kraft, Mara, Jones, etc. From all outward signs, all of those guys have skated through with hardly a scratch. Most are in a stronger position today because of their corruption than they were before.

And while agree with you about the others, I think Kraft has been significantly wounded on a number of fronts: with his fellow owners, with his commissioner, in terms of his overall influence in the league and, perhaps most importantly, with his fan base.

IMO, Kraft has shown that the fanbase is the least of his priorities, so no big loss to him there. I'm also of the opinion that he never had what everyone thought he had on those other fronts, so he didn't really lose anything there either. From the outside it looks like the other owners just looked at him as a waterboy/team manager type. He did all the dirty work, but they did't respect him for it. They were just willing to put up with him as long as he did the work they didn't want to bother with. The second he needed something from them, they showed what they truly thought of him.

So, while driving around I was giving this topic some thought and it occurred to me that the NFL might be putting itself in a particularly bad situation (I could only hope - not that SS is injured but that the NFL dies). Now that they have taken on the role of in-game declaration of who or who isn't able to play regardless of the player's and/or team's decision, if SS somehow gets damaged beyond repair and the NFL hasn't done anything to prevent either the Balt Pukes or SS from playing does that make them party to an outstanding personal injury lawsuit of epic proportions? I could only pray that there decision to intervene and take responsibility for the safety of players somehow gets hammered up the NFL's and Goddell's rectal cavity.

Volume stats are tricky. For example, Bledsoe and Testaverde are 9th and 10th, respectively, all-time in passing yards, more than Montana and Kelly. But Bledsoe and Testaverde will never be in Canton.

I wouldn't be surprised if Andre Johnson didn't get in, he has the volume, but name one memorable catch in his career. It's a problem with being stuck in Houston the whole time but you see what I mean. Henry Ellard didn't get in and he has more career receiving yards than both Johnson and Smith.

Smith is a terrific wide receiver but I stop short of declaring him a HOFer, I think that gets thrown around too casually.

He's a significant player in this era. If he gets to 14,000 yards, he'll get in. Maybe not a 1st ballot guy, but certainly worthy.

I think he needs to get his temper under control. He could screw up his legacy with some off-the-rails behavior.

Nitpicking but two things wrong with the bolded:

- Panthers aren't an AFC team
- Ravens didn't get to AFCCG with Smith, last year was his first season and they went down against the Pats in the divisional round

But I see your point about Smith. He's hot-headed, but he's a gamer for sure and there are worse players than him that are in the HOF, so it's possible.

If his actions since 2007 weren't detrimental to the team I would almost feel sorry for how Kraft was duped by the POS commissioner and his backstabbing fellow owners. I can see him being convinced in 2007 to shut up and take the unprecedented punishment by Mara and Rooney for the good of the commissioner's authority and the Shield as they proceeded to destroy the exculpatory evidence. He must have been convinced that the influence he rightfully had in financial matters would translate to competitive matters. In fact he had zero influence unlike supposed nonentities like Woody Johnson and Bisciotti have the ear of the POS that Kraft vociferously protected when it was obvious to the world that he lied. The last fiasco speaks for itself with draft choices surrendered based on a total fabrication.

Suffice it to say that Steve Smith was on two teams that got leads in the 4th quarter in the playoffs against the Patriots but left too much time on the clock for Tom Brady.
