I decided to look at the points allowed for each of the Patriots games. Then for each opponent, I calculated the median score of that team in the regular season not counting the game against the Patriots. So for example, the Patriots DEF allowed the Cardinals to score 21 points; in the other 15 games that the Cardinals played, they scored a median of 24 points. What this means is that the Patriots DEF allowed 3 fewer points than what the Cardinals would tend to put up. The more negative the difference, the better the defense was. Only against the Seahawks and Ravens did the Patriots DEF allow more points.

Now, contrast that with the Falcons DEF. They tended to give up more points relative to what their opponents typically scored.

This hopefully means that the Pats offense will be able to score more than their season average against the Falcons D, while the Patriots Defense will be likely to allow the Falcons offense to score less than what they typically do.

Thanks for taking time to share this!

Also found this pretty interesting as well

I like this post!

But they are underrated and we are overrated. NE is going to hang 40+ on them.
