have you guys noticed how long we hold the ball this season? its incredible...

our D may be very old, but at this rate they will set a record for least amount of time played in a regular season...im serious...our 30+ yr old lb's will be feeling better by playoff time then all the defensive rookies

I was actually just thinking about this when I saw the new thread. Didn't we control the ball for over 38 minutes against the Cowboys last Sunday? That's almost 2/3 of the game! It brings to mind the phrase "The best defense is a good offense".

With our propensity for injuries on the D this is a very good thing... when you watch the game it is not as noticeable, until you see it in the box score.

Had been leading the league in TOP before that game.
Hard to imagine that 38:15 cost us that distinction.

i mean...by the end of the game...the other defense must be completely DEAD...

no wonder they cant stop us at the end...a team may hang with us until halftime..maybe even 3rd quarter...but after its almost inevitable for the opposing D to just not be able to do it anymore...

and it takes a lot more stamina to play D then O...at least in my opinion

I've read that over 50 plays, and a defense's production goes way down. Kinda like MLB pitchers around 100 pitches. I don't remember where or when I read/heard that, but if somebody knows the truth that would be great.

Anyways, if the above is true, and the Pats have been running ~70 plays a game (which they have) its easy to see why Q3 and Q4 are where their defense falters.
