first of all I would like to thank you for all the time - all those long selfless hours - you are putting in thinking about our football team.
It was a great effort the last two years that helped us build stronger, tougher, special team. Keeping Tom out for the first quarter of the season was a stroke of genius: it kept him as healthy and fresh as possible for the postseason while offering opportunity for Jimmy to showcase himself and putting Jacoby in a position to grow faster than we could ever hope for. I can assure you they all took the most of this unlikely opportunity and are thankful as well.
I hope this doesn’t come across as too ungrateful but we would appreciate it
if you could keep the Good work going. I’m not sure if you and Tom had a chance to talk about this during your award ceremonies but the old kid has this crazy idea to play for five more years. Now I know what you are thinking - that’s crazy - and you are probably right, but he has his mind set and you know how it goes when he does that. He is the Goat and also stubborn as one, but we love him all the same. Anyhow, the point is he might need some help.
So here’s what I was thinking - along the lines of what you started yourself:
maybe if we take off the burden of the whole season from Tommy and somehow arrange that he starts each season half way through .. maybe that could actually keep him in the game just that little bit longer. I mean, those September and October games are for kids anyway. Besides, Jimmy might like this idea as well and maybe we could somehow work out for his future here.
Honestly, I have no idea how to arrange for such a thing (and you know as well as I do that I cannot count on Bill either) so I am turning to you to put your creative administrative powers to work and figure something out. I firmly believe in your abilities of inventing the right crimes and punishments and I look forward to see what you can come up with.
yours ...
