what do you experts know about Vandy's DE/OLB Steven Stone? Have not seen him play this year but had a great pro day.

Has the BB required size at 6'5, but his 40 time of 4.92 likely indicates he lacks the athleticism to play OLB and it probably renders him a late round selection at best for the Pats.

he has the size to play OLB in a 3-4. but i think he is a guy that will bulk up to about 270lbs and stay as a 4-3 DE i think he is better off in the 4-3

Where did you get that Stone only ran a 4.92? Appreciate a link if you have it.

Stone DID have a 35 inch vertical. He also had a 3 cone of 6.99 which is very good for a big man. He supposedly also had a 9'10 broad jump. Not sure about his 10 and 20 splits..

Also, if what is said about him (that he could easily add 20 lbs to his frame), then there'd be the potential for him to be a DE in the 3-4.

He'd be too slow to be a 4-3 DE, IMHO, if the 4.92 is accurate. That's a 4-3 DT.

I found the 40 time of 4.92 here: PackerChatters Blog Archive Pro-Day Results 3/19: Vanderbilt, Tulane, Middle Tennessee

I agree with you about him moving to 3-4 DE. Definitely has the frame to bulk up to 290-300 lbs.

I'd really like to find out his splits.. With a 6.99 3-cone and the good Broad and vert numbers.. he could have a good burst, just poor longevity..

True. I like 3 cone and short shuttle measurements out of LB's and De's. More realistic when it comes down to football.
