Dave Dombrowski hired by the Sox. Ben out as GM. Interesting

i love this move. thank god they didn't hire another money ball stat geek. things are looking up. should be a very interesting off season. they need to find a way to dump Hanley panda and Porcello

That Masterson was released already tells me one very important thing ...

Cherington was too close to the players to evaluate properly ....

Dombrowski sending a message right away ... country club lounge is closed.

I hope he doesn't hire Frankie Wren as GM; he brought the a-hole Upton brothers to Atlanta, a move which has poisoned its clubhouse. Either DD himself or Jerry DiPoto should assume GM duties.

Wren is a good GM...he really had an eye for talent while in Montreal and i dont think he would be that bad. The one thing i am worried about is Dombrowski likes to trade young players for vets. We have an outstanding farm system and i dont want him to deplete that too much.

his biggest issue will be...how will he get rid of HanRam and Fat Panda

I'm thinking this is going to turn out well ... it seems that Carmine is very useful when used as part of the drafting process ... however Carmine needs to be utilized with a sharp eye and good baseball common sense when signing free agents. While free agents in general tend to be not the best decisions ... ours appear to be worse than most and I don't want to go through the pain of listing all the bad ones ... a long list.

The other thing is Cherrington taking the fall ... which is partially deserved. Luchino has been mostly absent these last few years as his job title and responsibilities changed ... I mean how many games at Fenway did we see Luchino in the owner's box .... surely that had more to do with the problems than Cherrington .... perhaps Carmine contributed to Luchino being lazy???
