Yes, yes, injuries are part of the game. But, it makes me sick that we won't see what BB had planned for Tank Williams in the LB/safety rotation. Three preseason games left to go -- it will be interesting to see who plays how much, and when. This is a proven veteran Super Bowl team with lineups pretty much intact (except for the offensive line, defensive backfield and special teams). I'd be happy to see starters sitting as much as possible the rest of the way. I question how much actual game-speed timing is needed for our starters to be ready Sept. 7.

I couldn't agree with you more. I watch every second of these scrimmages holding my breath hoping I can exhale in relief when no one is injured, at least seriously. I have a love/hate relationship with pre-season. On the one hand, I'm really excited to have football back and, on the other hand, I'm apprehensive with these games and even practices.

Yup. We were pretty lucky all last year with injuries (for a change).

It happens every year..injuries...it happens but I don't see less than 4 games...2 is not enough..

We were lucky in the sense that we didn't have a bunch of injuries, but we still had significant losses (Rosevelt Colvin, Sammy Morris). I truly believe the Super Bowl would have played out differently if they were available. But alas, as has been said, injuries happen, and it's a matter of dealing with them.

And yes, I hate preseason as well.

The college boys seem to do OK with no preseason games. I'd be fine with no preseason games and just let them roll on 9/7. I'd rather have all the players present with a little rust than having no rust and missing a couple players. I know it won't change though because of the revenue but it would improve the quality of the product having fewer injuries. I'd also like to see just 14 games.

Outside of injuries to our top players and/or rookies, this is about as bummed as I cold possibly get about an injury. Tank Williams being gone really F-ing BLOWS.

Big time colleges do play a preseason. It's called Aug 30 vs. Baylor.

Some players might make it through the preseason and then suffer a season ending injury in one of the first three or four games. There's never a time when a fan can feel safe. Injuries incurred during the game almost cost the Patriots a Superbowl and did cost them an AFC championship against the Colts.

Cleavon Tank Williams to IR is a loss. But the silver lining to the cloud is that Harrison will be hanging it up after this season. Tank will becoming back ready to resume the job that he won and Billl had found for him. I consider it a plus to have found another talented Safety.
