Cutting Ochocinco Would Be An Expensive 'Message'
By: Ian Logue

It looks like if it came down to parting ways with newly acquired Chad Ochocinco to "send a message", as an NFL Executive apparently recently suggested, it would be an expensive lesson if it meant cutting #85 before the season....

On the other hand I don’t believe it would make sense to part ways with Ochocinco since the Patriots don’t have a number one receiver. I know they can do a lot with their two tight end sets. But let’s be honest, teams will figure out a way to shut their passing game down without a legitimate go to receiver. I know you can argue that Wes Welker is a go to guy. He is able to make plays when they’re needed. But let’s be honest, he’s not a true number one receiver. He’s simply a great complimentary player.
