Not much to discuss these days. Things will ramp up in a few weeks.
I feel like we're ahead of last year in terms of beating the trees to shake out prospects of interest. I was looking at the Consensus Big Board to see how players stack up.
Offense:
I want to focus on defense in 2027, but there may be some values on offense, especially at TE and IOL.
QB:

The more the merrier. I hope a ton of QBs go early, pushing more non-QB prospects to the Pats.
6-7 first round QBs definitely possible. Manning and Moore are locks. Mestemaker and Lindsey have size and arms. Maiava, Bailey, Sorsby and Iamaleava are toolsy. Carr, Sayin and Mensah will get lots of spotlight. Sellars, Mateer and Chambliss are wildcards to me.
Not a position for NE unless a very talented guy with upside slips to round 6 or later. That will only happen if there are major red flags (Sorsby, Iamaleava).
RB:

Baugh, Lacy and Hardy are the clear top 3 - in that order, IMO. Baugh a perfect complement to TreVeyon Henderson, but I wouldn't invest the draft capital on RB that high. Hardy's lack of receiving ability limits him. Brown very intriguing.
Some good mid round options if any slip to round 5 or later, but wouldn't go RB before then. I like Mark Fletcher and Nate Frazier. Justice Haynes very under-valued.

My Thoughts:
One of the only offensive positions I would consider before day 3, if the value is there. TEs are Queens on the offensive chessboard, and the league is finally figuring it out. TEs were prized in the 2026 draft, and I expect that to continue in 2027, with a copycat league using more 12 and 13 personnel.
Jamari Johnson is the prize. I like him much better than Kenyon Sadiq. Trey'Dez Green could be a Jimmy Graham kind of weapon, Kyle Pitts at the least. Andrew Rappleyea seems to be emerging as the clear #3 prospect for now - Sam Teets has him at #13 overall. Peter Clarke is the most intriguing Y TE; he will be a difficult eval coming out of Temple, and testing will be key.
Beyond them, there are a bunch of solid guys, with a variety of skill sets. Benjamin Brahmer, DJ Vonhamme, Chris Corbo and Terrance Carter all intriguing. But not nearly as deep a group as 2026.

My Thoughts:
I don't want to draft an OT unless (1) it is a tackle->guard conversion, or (2) Will Campbell moves inside.
Jordan Seaton and Trevor Goosby are up with Monroe Freeling as ultra-athletic pure tackles. Both will go top 15. After them, the 2027 tackle class is not as deep at the top as 2026. There are many players who project inside at the next level.
Jacarrius Peak and PJ Williams are highly athletic prospects who I think could play either tackle or guard at the next level.
Niki Prongos is my pure OT3. He, along with Ian Moore, Blake Frazier, Elijah Paige, and Elijah Pritchett could be huge risers as true OTs. Also Nathan Roy, though I thought he was a true sophomore. Desmeal Leigh and Kolt Dieterich wild cards. Trevor Lauck my OT4 - very steady and technically sound. Melvin Siani also steady, a potential riser.

My Thoughts:
IOL and TE are the 2 offensive positions that I would be ok investing in before day 3, if the value is there. Completing the OL buildout should be a priority. That said, I would probably prefer to address both in FA if the opportunity arises, and devote 2027 to infusing the defense with young talent.
Jacarrius Peak, Ezomo Oratokhai and PJ Williams are my top 3 right now based on their athleticism. Oratokhai is a RS Sophomore but reportedly is 24. Peak s coming off a knee injury. Kade Pieper is incredibly athletic. Charles Jagusah is in a class by himself - maybe the most upside, but a complete enigma.
Austin Siereveld, Carter Smith, Cayden Green, Brandon Baker and Anthonie Knapp are all T -> G conversions. All should be very good. I'm not sure any is a clear 1st round talent, but testing may help differentiate them. Greg Johnson is a highly versatile option as well.
Defense:
This is where I hope the Pats spend the vast majority of their 2027 draft capital.

A'Mauri Washington and Will Echoles are more 1-Techs who can also penetrate, both 1st round caliber. Echoles is still very under-rated right now.
AJ Holmes, Tavion Gadsen, Jayden Jackson and Stephiylan Green are sleepers to watch.
2026 had some ridiculous late round highly athletic DTs: Jordan Van den Berg, Rene Konga, DaMonte Capehart. Not to mention Uar Bernard. I don't see those kind of guys just yet.

My Thoughts:
Stewart and Simmons are elite talents. I think Yhonzae Pierre and Jordan Ross are the other 2 guys with the athleticism and speed/speed-to-power to potentially be 1st round talents. Beyond them, Boubacar Traore and Clev Lubin are intriguing day 2 prospects who would fit well.
The others don't interest me much. Uiagalelei, Rhodes, Jackson and Heldt are all power DEs who don't offer much over DreMont Jones. Taylor Heim, Anto Saka, Bryce Young and Adam Trick worth watching. Not sure about Damon Wilson or John Henry Daley.
Right now my list of intriguing EDGE prospects is pretty short. I'm more interested in the other defensive positions.

LB is a prime area of need for the Pats - both MIKE and WILL/SAM - and is seriously undervalued right now.
Sammy Brown, Kyngstonn Viliamu-asa, and #231 Chris Cole are the clear top 3 for me, all 1st round talents. I want one of those 3 to be a Patriot in 2027. Brown could be better than Jacob Rodriguez or CJ Allen. Cole already gets Arvell Reese comps, and I expect him to have a meteoric rise. KVA is coming off an ACL injury, but somewhat similar to Chris Cole. Any could be BPA in late round 1.
Rasheem Biles, Chris Sullivan, Christian Alliegro and Suntarine Perkins don't interest me much at this point. Ben Roberts is a great WILL option, and Ray Coney is my #2 MIKE after Sammy Brown.
Xavier Atkins a possible S convert? Great tape
Arion Carter, Whit Weeks, Isaiah Glasker, Tony Rojas and Sammy Omosighbo all very undervalued right now.
A double dip at LB is a definite possibility.

My Thoughts:
KJ Bolden, Tae Johnson and Jelani McDonald are the clear top 3 for me, all top 40 talents, comparable to last year's Caleb Downs (12), Dillon Thieneman (25) and Treydan Stukes (38). McDonald is way under-rated at 87, and would be a steal day 2 if he falls in that range, but I expect him to do a Stukes-like rise.
Koi Perich, Zach Lutmer, and Jaylen McClain and Xavier Scott are intriguing. Perich is a little over-rated for me right now but has potential. Lutmer is a bit of a poor man's Cooper DeJean. McClain reportedly has 4.35 speed and great range.
Ty Benefield, Jackson Bennee, Dashawn Spears and Tao Johnson are all potential risers. Amare Ferrell and Rod Moore are way under the radar, and have top-100 talent. I have Xavier Lucas as a corner, but he's another dark horse worth watching.
I would love to see the Pats grab a rangy safety in rounds 3-5 to pair with Craig Woodson. Safeties are undervalued, and some will slip through the cracks. Jelani McDonald is my binky, though I think he will go high, but there are lots of intriguing guys.

My Thoughts:
Finding a long-term #2 opposite Christian Gonzalez to succeed Carlton Davis should be one of the top priorities for 2027. CB is valued higher than S, and the CB pool is not as deep. This could be a 1st round area if a top talent slips, but I think 2nd round is more likely.
Leonard Moore and Ellis Robinson IV will be out of reach - Moore will be in the Gonzo/Surtain/Stingley class. But one of Ashton Hampton, Kelly Washington, OJ Frederique, Brice Pollack and #369 Demello Jones should slip into day 2 and could be a good complement to Gonzo. Demello Jones is way off the radar right now, but with a good season he will rise fast.

Austin Siereveld, Carter Smith, Cayden Green, Brandon Baker and Anthonie Knapp are all T -> G conversions. All should be very good. I'm not sure any is a clear 1st round talent, but testing may help differentiate them. Greg Johnson is a highly versatile option as well.

David Stone and Justin Scott will vie for the top 3-Tech. Both very talented and explosive. Mateen Ibirogba doesn't have as complete a game yet, but his game is so disruptive
A'Mauri Washington and Will Echoles are more 1-Techs who can also penetrate, both 1st round caliber. Echoles is still very under-rated right now.
AJ Holmes, Tavion Gadsen, Jayden Jackson and Stephiylan Green are sleepers to watch.
2026 had some ridiculous late round highly athletic DTs: Jordan Van den Berg, Rene Konga, DaMonte Capehart. Not to mention Uar Bernard. I don't see those kind of guys just yet.

My Thoughts:
Stewart and Simmons are elite talents. I think Yhonzae Pierre and Jordan Ross are the other 2 guys with the athleticism and speed/speed-to-power to potentially be 1st round talents. Beyond them, Boubacar Traore and Clev Lubin are intriguing day 2 prospects who would fit well.
The others don't interest me much. Uiagalelei, Rhodes, Jackson and Heldt are all power DEs who don't offer much over DreMont Jones. Taylor Heim, Anto Saka, Bryce Young and Adam Trick worth watching. Not sure about Damon Wilson or John Henry Daley.
Right now my list of intriguing EDGE prospects is pretty short. I'm more interested in the other defensive positions.

LB is a prime area of need for the Pats - both MIKE and WILL/SAM - and is seriously undervalued right now.
Sammy Brown, Kyngstonn Viliamu-asa, and #231 Chris Cole are the clear top 3 for me, all 1st round talents. I want one of those 3 to be a Patriot in 2027. Brown could be better than Jacob Rodriguez or CJ Allen. Cole already gets Arvell Reese comps, and I expect him to have a meteoric rise. KVA is coming off an ACL injury, but somewhat similar to Chris Cole. Any could be BPA in late round 1.
Rasheem Biles, Chris Sullivan, Christian Alliegro and Suntarine Perkins don't interest me much at this point. Ben Roberts is a great WILL option, and Ray Coney is my #2 MIKE after Sammy Brown.
Xavier Atkins a possible S convert? Great tape
Arion Carter, Whit Weeks, Isaiah Glasker, Tony Rojas and Sammy Omosighbo all very undervalued right now.

My Thoughts:
KJ Bolden, Tae Johnson and Jelani McDonald are the clear top 3 for me, all top 40 talents, comparable to last year's Caleb Downs (12), Dillon Thieneman (25) and Treydan Stukes (38). McDonald is way under-rated at 87, and would be a steal day 2 if he falls in that range, but I expect him to do a Stukes-like rise.
Koi Perich, Zach Lutmer, and Jaylen McClain and Xavier Scott are intriguing. Perich is a little over-rated for me right now but has potential. Lutmer is a bit of a poor man's Cooper DeJean. McClain reportedly has 4.35 speed and great range.
Ty Benefield, Jackson Bennee, Dashawn Spears and Tao Johnson are all potential risers. Amare Ferrell and Rod Moore are way under the radar, and have top-100 talent. I have Xavier Lucas as a corner, but he's another dark horse worth watching.
I would love to see the Pats grab a rangy safety in rounds 3-5 to pair with Craig Woodson. Safeties are undervalued, and some will slip through the cracks. Jelani McDonald is my binky, though I think he will go high, but there are lots of intriguing guys.

My Thoughts:
Finding a long-term #2 opposite Christian Gonzalez to succeed Carlton Davis should be one of the top priorities for 2027. CB is valued higher than S, and the CB pool is not as deep. This could be a 1st round area if a top talent slips, but I think 2nd round is more likely.
Leonard Moore and Ellis Robinson IV will be out of reach - Moore will be in the Gonzo/Surtain/Stingley class. But one of Ashton Hampton, Kelly Washington, OJ Frederique, Brice Pollack and #369 Demello Jones should slip into day 2 and could be a good complement to Gonzo. Demello Jones is way off the radar right now, but with a good season he will rise fast.
Elijah Green, Jayden Bellamy, Dezz Ricks, Jyaire Hill, Ja'Bril Rawls and Xavier Lucas are other sleepers to watch.
