In the wake of Albert Haynesworth failed physical and for that matter Ty Warrens failed physical. Anyone familiar with the exact test? What is the physical test..? And does it depend on the position the player plays?

If I recall correctly it is essentially a series of sprints (about 40 yards?) that X amount have to be completed in under Y seconds each, within a maximum Z amount of time; and each of those X, Y and Z variables differ depending not on height or weight, but on the position of that player. So defensive linemen have one set of expectations, running backs another, etc. The distance may even be a 4th variable depending on the position, I'm not sure.

Sorry I don't know what the specifics are for each position, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is; it's not as simple as thirty years ago when everybody was in the same boat and had to run a mile in less than a certain amount of time.
