2 sixth rounders...big deal. Baltimore got 4 picks so they seem to be the biggest beneficiary. I suspect next year could be a third for us...

That's what AdamJT13 projected for us. We can get the next Brady with one of those picks . . . and the next Givens if we don't mind taking him a round early

ya i always find it somewhat funny that brady was a compensatory pick

does anyone know who it was we lost the yr before that got us that pick

also, losing givens should get us a good pick next yr

How many picks that give us now? 11? 12? no way we use em all.....

Maybe we can throw one in along with a fourth for Moulds...

I actually used AdamJT13's info from last year to predict the two 6ths back in January.

Next year, provided that we don't sign any other unrestricted free agents (not players who were cut), the the Pats are definitely looking at 4 picks. Probably a 4th, a 5th and either 2 6th rounders or a 6th and 7th rounder.

Have to really get into the nitty gritty on them to be sure, plus there is still a lot of time left for the Pats to sign free agents.

I bet that's no small thing to the Patriots. We, and other teams, do get useful players out of a 4, 5, 6 & 7 . . . that's a full extra second day right there. Koppen, Samuel, Brady, Givens, Jarvis Green were all Day Two picks along with a few like Sanders, Scott and Cassel who are up in the air still.

We have Oakland's pick...#3 in round 5. Perhaps we can move into round 4 with our own 6th and the 5th/#3 giving us 3 4th rounders. I love that 4th round...1st round of day 2 after the dust settles, lots of good solid future NFL players that are possible cap friendly in the future right there.

we'll def use some picks to manuever
bb always loves to do it
if theres a guy he really wants hes progressive, and i really like that he does that

Wait... WHAT!?!?!? That single fact should silence any critic of this Patriots regime for not re-signing players. Tom Brady was a compensatory pick in the 6th round!

I love how the Pats can choose to not re-sign older, over-valued players, and not only will they go out and find younger, cheaper replacements, but they also get free draft picks on top of it!

It's great.

I'd be willing to bet at least one is used on a kicker. That represents a degree of value as any kicker drafted that high (and that is high for a kicker) is probably considered one of the best rookies available.

Makes sense to take a chance and draft one rather than compete with other teams for the UFAs after the draft

Would that be "A Kicker" or "Just A Kicker"

Excellent point. Absolutely true. This kind of move makes sense...here's hoping they make it so.

How about taking 2 kickers late and have them face off? Competition.

Seriously, though, I could see them having a lot of bodies in camp with fierce competition at RB WR and LB.

Not such a bad idea.
