This "cowher did the wrong thing" stuff needs to stop. He made the right call by going for the TD. If he just kneeled it down the dolts would have taken their timeout's (they had them all) and then after the squealers kicked the FG (if everything there went perfect) the dolts would get the ball back with a minute to go on the clock down by 6. If they go down the field quick and score (which they had done 2 drives earlier) then Cowher would be the goat for "playing not to lose the game". Also let's not forget that Bettis hadn't fumbled once this year and it is a 1 yard run for the squealers. He made the right call, it was just a freak play. Becuase if they score there the game is over!

Maybe, but I'm not 100% convinced. If they kneel down 3 times, the Colts are out of timeouts, and 98 yards in 58 seconds is a tall order even for the Colts. Also, there are running plays that could use up a bit more time than kneeling. In either case, Bettis should be coached to hold the ball with both arms. He dangled that thing out there like Kevin Faulk --- a rookie mistake.
