Because Manning keeps saying you have to get some players healthy? Because the big excuse right now for the Colts is that they are playing like crap because of injuries to starters? Because Colts fans themselves admit that you are so desperate for bodies you sign players for the sole reason that they are dirt cheap (admittedly all you can afford due to cap mismanagement).

Manning is saying that because we were down to Johnson, who replaced Ugoh, who replaced Tarik Glenn at LT. And we were down to playing an injured Moorehead and some guy named Craphonso Thorpe because they replaced an injured Gonzalez who had replaced an injured Harrison. We almost beat you guys with this situation, and without 3 of our top 4 linebackers to start the season.

If this season has taught you anything about the Colts, it's that our cap management is better than any team in football's not named the Patriots. All I heard all offseason was how we were going to be so much worse with all the players we lost in free agency. Then our left tackle retires, then our only DL with size is out for the season. And yet, with all of that happening, we are still a better team than last year.

I am confused

I for one think the Colts should be commended for their backups. They have covered their massive injuries this year about as well as could be expected, and almost as well as the Pats did in 2003. Polian has been very good at defating capable backups. The Colts have just not been as good/fortunate at finding help via free agency, and noone really has much luck during the season.

Not sure why this is becoming so childish. Signing Simeon Rice was a low-risk deal; that it didn't work out for Indy is no surprise, considering the team who released him could have used any help on the line they could have gotten from him. If he was unable to help them, he would likely be unable to help a team with a stronger line (albeit one with a gaping hole now).

We have just signed Chad Brown, another low-risk signing with a probable upside of almost nil, unless he is somehow a different player than the last time he ran through the Patriots locker room. Will anyone be surprised if this signing lasts only a few weeks?
