Re: PFTioli very interested in the browns GM job

I think we have to brace ourselves, just like losing tom brady for the year, and not making the playoffs.. that the Pioli Belichick era is coming to a end..It may or may not be true, but we need to regroup and retool..

Alright, I've often admitted my noob-ness, do tell more about this Savage fella and why it seems to excite some of you (even though it's obviously all spec, right now).

You don't mean this guy, right?

you mean phil savage who got fired by browns ?who wrote emails back to fans in stupid language ?
Last yr it was -can BB win without Brady?. Now it will be can BB win without pioli ?
this sucks big time if it happens.

If Pioli feels it is time to move on then I thank him and wish him luck(not too much of course). If his heart is not in his job then he needs to move on. All good things must come to an end and I believe that BB and Kraft will find someone else to do his job. They will probably promote Nick Caserio.

GFY to the fans!

He's from the BB coaching tree and a BB butt buddy.

Pioli is good but he's not God. BB IS God.

its a good team, and would hate to see Pioli go.. I do think Cleveland is something close to Pioli and would want to go for it..

You really have to worry about people branded as "Phil" by their parents. Such a curse, they always turn out to be wild and unpredictable.

Indeed. As I've been saying since these rumors started, this is not the end of the world and the sky is not falling. It's the NFL. People come and people go. We still have BB, Brady, and Kraft. If Savage does not come here then we'll find someone else to do the job just as good as Pioli did or better. Kraft loves this team too much to not find a quality G.M.

And for those of you who knock Savage, he put the draft picks in place for that Browns team and they are pretty talented despite their record. His job security was affected by Derek Anderson sucking then Brady Quinn getting injured. Here, he has a nice security blanket.

Re: PFTioli very interested in the browns GM job

If Pioli decides to bolt..................

I'm okay if we can get Savage. He just needs someone like BB behind him. Let's face it, the guy does know talent. 3/4 of Baltimore D are people he recognized as talent.

Same with Cleveland. There is much talent there, despite the fact that it has not been properly exploited (which would not be an issue here). I think BB/Savage could certainly work.

Pioli is great, but he ain't the architect, BB is.

True, but GFY anyway!

Re: PFTioli very interested in the browns GM job

I dont think we should dismiss Pioli just because he has 1 foot out the door.. He really put together this team and Belichick does have final say, but both are friends, and would be a blow to this organization.. Its not like he sold tickets, he did the draft and the scouting dept.. He was not always perfect ( Donald Hayes, Steve Martin, Duane Starks, Monty Beisel) ,but he was key contributor.. Belichick said it best, if a better opportunity come about, and we cant match then so be it..

they will move on, but I would like to see Kraft step up and keep this team together for a few more years..

Re: PFTioli very interested in the browns GM job

Ummmm, as added discussion. If Pioli is dumb enough to try out Josh as the HC for the Browns (provided he went there), then we don't want him here anymore, cuz he's nuts. Josh is CLEARLY not ready for that kind of gig yet.

BB IS God.

Missed that part before. Have you read this particular verse of the Bible?

In the beginning Bill Belichick created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of Bill Belichick was hovering over the waters.

And Bill Belichick said, "Let there be light," and there was light. Bill Belichick saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. Bill Belichick called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
