I agreed with this, "Far be it for me to tell you how to run your football team".

it was long winded, but he does make some good points. the team has to change it's identity from pass happy to a physical D. I really miss the old days when our guys would force turnovers. One guy would knock the ball loose, another guy would come in and prevent the ball carrier from getting the ball back and a third guy would pick it up and run it back. that's what we need. but in fairness to BB, he did not have the personnel to do it this year. too many guys on IR.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I agree with much of what I've read:

1. The defense ALWAYS had trouble sealing the deal in big games, getting worn down at the end of Super Bowls ...

2. ... but you know what? The same thing happened to Pitt's D this year.

3. The Pats didn't so much invest in offense over defense as they happened to do a better job on O. They got HOFer Randy Moss for a 4th round pick and (for one year at least) not-terrible contract. They got Pro Bowler Wes Welker for a not-high contract, a 2nd round pick, and a 7th. Those are their two best player acquisition moves in several years, at least in terms of impact to date. (I hope Mayo proves comparable over time.) It just so happens that both were at the same offensive skill position.
