Chatham article gives a good perspective

I feel kinda smart that Chatham's arguments are similar to mine. He is spot on about the whole trying to win by pressuring Manning a recipe for disaster. Most overrated thing people have been talking about all week. Although my argument is a little different than his, beating Manning starts by disrupting the receivers with the secondary, not rushing the passer.

Accessibly smart is undoubtedly the way to do media. Chatham does a great job with it.

Former players who are articulate, thoughtful and unbias in their analysis are rare.

Chatham is one of the very good ones IMO.

I really like Chatham a lot.

Denver has always been vulnerable in the middle of the field, but now the Broncos have to find a way to compensate for that or Gronk will shred them all day. Huge difference from last year when Gronk was sidelined.

But disrupting the receivers needs to then result in pressure. If he has all day disrupting the routes isn't enough because he will have time to wait for them to get open.

Not as much as other QBs. Manning is all about getting rid of the ball quickly. Many times he throws the ball to the spot and disrupting the routes of the receivers will cause incompletions. Manning is a guy who improvises before the snap, but isn't as big of an improvisor after the snap.

Time and time again have heard the talk radio folks talking about the need for a pass rush and where oh where will it come from... that you need to disrupt his "rhythm"...

Occasionally one of them, in this case Chatham, make a lot of sense... Peyton has only been sacked 8 times this year... in 7 games, compare to Brady 15 times in 8 games...
