Emotions are running high; Blame is being dispensed. HOWEVER:
(1) I believe Brady's rapport with the receivers will improve
(2) the 3-4 takes time to reach its full strength, especially after being abandoned for the Jets game
(3) Gostkowski is just like all the other crappy kickers, with one exception: he has a fantastic leg, helps field position, and will improve. Plus, he's healthy, unlike the Vinitraitor. I'm not giving up or angry at him.
(4) Gabriel showed real promise
(5) Brady will get angry now, instead of moping around, His pride is injured, like in the '03 Washington game.
(6) credit has to go to DENVER. They have a solid well coached team that works like a machine with moving parts. Shanahan is a fantastic coach and coached BB's rear end off tonight
(7) Josh McDaniels does not have the charisma or imagination needed to meet adversity, confront it, and conquer. As of right now he is a run of the mill game planner and play caller. I am concerned that we are looking at a 1993 Cleveland Brown offense.
(8) Chad Jackson must play ASAP. He will ALWAYS be open. He's that good.

I agree that Denver played a great game, and really does seem to have our number.

I hate to say this, but Brady's had 3 full weeks to get used to these new wideouts, and we've seen very little improvement. And I don't have a clue as to why this game would make him come alive as opposed to getting killed last year, or the two games we almost blew before this one.

I hope you're right about Jackson!

Thank you. This board is beyond ridiculous tonight.

The Pats have some problems. They're 2-1 with 2 division wins.

Looking at Gabriel and Jackson last week, I'd say we played most of the game without our 2 best receivers. Caldwell and Troy as 3 and 4 look pretty good to me.

I'd like to sign one of those safeties they looked at. What's Sanders about 5'3"?

If McDaniel is really the offensive coordinator, now's the time to step up.

Let's face it, if we're going to look bad, it's likely to be against Denver.

He gets up for Belichick, but we got the 3 Lombardi's

I hope #5 will be proven true soon. Our O starts with Tom, if he doesn't get fired up, nothing else will.

No he won't and here's why: When healthy he will watch the game from the sidlines for whatever reason even though he is the best reciever on the team. He catches a touchdown to end the half against the Jets and then he is awarded the bench for the 2nd half of the game. Then he doesn't even play against Denver. Sometimes I don't understand the Pats management.

I don't know if they're purposely holding him back or not, but I believe that there is no better experience than actual playing time. I don't think BB would hold Doug and Chad out if they weren't seriously injured..

3 weeks?! You're killing me. 3 whole weeks and their not yet setting the NFL on fire. No pre-season work and 3 weeks of practices which are mostly spent on learning the game plan and TB is supposed to be on the same page as his wide receivers.

It will be good progress if TB is close to being on the same page with his new WRs after half a season. 3 weeks in and you should see occasional completions with most of the passes to Troy Brown and the tight ends. Funny, that's what we are seeing.

Neither Jackson or Gabriel were able to play in the first game because of injuries.

Jackson played in the second game and showed flashes of being great. Gabriel didn't play in that game.

This time, it was Gabriel that came in and looked great.

Each receiver only had a game to get in sync with Brady (outside of practice). Just wait until both of these guys are healthy and have had more time with Brady in a real game... together. It will be a much better WR duo than Brown and Caldwell.

I tend to agree.

How depressing was it so see a big third down come up, and look out and see Caldwell, Troy, and Big Ben (who I love but is not sudden enough to consistently get separation against D-backs) split out wide?

I felt utterly helpless watching, and I'm sure Tom felt the same.

Gabriel and CJ will make an enormous difference; spreading the field and opening things up underneath for Watson, Graham, Troy and Faulk.

Jackson will help but the question is will he ever play?

I just want to reiterate a belief a stated before this game, that the sooner David Thomas and CJ become starters, the better the offense will be. That means NEXT WEEK. Thomas should replace Graham in the lineup.

Until I see otherwise Chad = Bethel

PonyExpress...

Graham is so valuable blocking that you can not replace him with Thomas...
Although he doesn need to see the field a bit more. I think Jackson is great but the post about these guys being of help but not getting the opportunity is spot on. They both have played sparingly 2 straight weeks. No Jackson last nite. They still have 120 yds and 2 TD's. Tell me why they are not on the field more.... Oh yeah what are Caldwell's #s. McDaniels needs to pull his head out and see that Tom needs these guys on the field. Scheme accordingly PLEASE!

Our offensive coordinator = CRAP

Graham's blocking prowess is a fallacy foisted on the Pats faithful. His blocking, for example, did little last night. He is not special as a blocker, and he is too inconsistent to be a reliable go to target in the passing game. IOW he is eminently replaceable, and the time his now. He is a negative IMO. The time to justify his high draft pick status is OVER.

Just an FYI. The team has been running the same 3-4 defense under Belichick for years. Now they need half a season to get used to the defense because they played 4-3 for one game? Talk about reaching for straws.

By the way with extremely little time on the field
Jackson + Gabriel= 8 catches 107 yards 2TD's (in 2 quarters of action!!)
Brown + Caldwell= 17 catches 203 yards 1TD (played throughout 12 quarters)

Hey jackass,
Your knowledge of the game is as transparently foolish as your handle. When OLBs switch sides, when a new OLB is introduced, when a new ILB is introduced, when the team switches between alignments from game to game, inconsistencies arise in how the team sets the edge and fills its gaps against the run. Your failure to understand this betrays your lack of understanding of the basics of the game, which is easy to understand considering your namesake. Now go wash his cream off your lips.

Unmentioned has been the fact that Denver's team is basically unchanged this yr. 3 new guys?
