This is maddening why our guys won’t drive. They are just hesitant and settling for threes constantly. Brown has done it but we need Tatum to do it as well.

Offensive rebounds and sloppy passing absolutely killed us. Wasted great offensive nights from Brown and White. SMH

Zero help-side defense all night. Zero adjustments. Ever heard of playing zone against a team that wants to dribble to the basket all night and isn’t great at 3s?

Hawks had offensive rebounds all night and Celtics didn’t have Queta in on that deciding possession where predictably they got a tip in.

Then Mazulla burned the final timeout to setup a hero play for Tatum. He must have been ****ting his pants that someone like Holiday or White would get an open shot and we wouldn’t get a JT fadeaway buzzer brick.

Well deserved loss (except for Brown and DWhite.)

Celtics romped to the title last year, without really putting to the test whether or not they could win these games in crunch time. Win in blowouts or lose close ones. Gotta figure that out, better regular season than the playoffs

It’s rare to see a basketball game so poorly coached / executed. The Hawks were 15 point underdogs, went 10/32 on threes; Celtics were 15 point favorites and went 18/45 (40%.)

It’s almost impossible to lose with those factors. Beyond that, DWhite also had his best game of the season; Brown was on fire.

Hawks gameplan was to just get the ball and attack the basket. That simple. They’d get a step on the defender and that was it. No one in the paint, no one stepping up, just literally a clear ****ing path for a dunk or layup.

All game.

Wtf did I just watch?

I’d say turnovers are the missing variable, but the Hawks had 16 to Celtics 20.

I’ve never criticized Mazulla for anything other than last possession stuff. This was the worst game he’s coached, by far.

The truth is that the Celts have been playing uninspired basketball for the past two or three weeks. They are so talented that they mostly win anyway but they are playing well below their standards and I’m not sure why.

Hawks really are better without Young. No joke. Last season he had a negative on/off. Totally different team that spreads it around on offense and doesn’t have an ankle biter liability on defense.

I agree with Scal about the final shot when you are down 1 or even 2. Drive that ball to the rim instead of settling for an off balance crazy three. Give me a Brown/Tatum drive or get the ball to White for the jumper who has been excellent with the contested shots.

I’m feeling a dynasty Patriots level of excitement. It’s so hard to build a great team like this, let alone keep it together. Need to savor every moment. Can’t wait for the season to start!!!

As great as we are as team.. we are missing KP.. the offensive glass and 2nd chance points are a glaring hole without him. Is how we lost last night to Atlanta. Cavs looking like a well oiled machine.

Yep. They are at least one springy, long, rebounding machine away from being an Actual complete team.

Porzingas' eventual return ain't helping there either, that's for dam sure. The Brad needs to trade for one, by the deadline at the absolute latest.

Nice turnaround by C's. Up 5 at halftime.
Were down by 13.
DWhite really off tonight. Worst game I've ever seen him play. 3 turnovers including 2 uncharacteristic lazy passes that were easily picked off and taken in for scores by Nets. 0 pts 0 assists only played 5 minutes Mazzulla sat him for PP who was very good.
Derrick just looked off, a step slow, reminded me of how JT looked in that one bad game. Dealing with an injury, sick? Maybe bad stomach bug.
Hope he's ok. Just an unusual game for him

Looking better now. They really need to start getting off the blocks quicker though. This is becoming a trend.

After being down 13 mid 1st qtr. C's have just dominated. Up 24 with 4 mins to play.
Nobody is beating the C's tonight.
DWhite more like his old self 2nd half with a a huge block on a big man's dunk attempt plus a couple smooth 3's.

Good win overall tonight. Tatum is growing more and more and imo is the best player in the NBA. He is a major problem for teams.
