Like Cassel at USC, Vikings quarterback Brad Johnson spent almost his entire career as a collegian playing a backup role.

"It's a great case of hard work and determination and somebody who had to overcome a lot of adversity to get to where he was," said Cassel. "And he's a great quarterback. It just goes to show that college isn't always the predictor of success at the next level, and it also goes to show that there's a lot of guys that can play out there when given the opportunity."

Not a bad guy to pattern yourself after, though that other guy he works with has certainly helped him look good once he gets past the opening jitters.
