Carr OUT for the season

As for the injury itself, we should probably root for kc to win their division. That likely means we get sh***y afcs team or raiders without carr.

If oakland somehow hangs on to that division, the 3 seed likely plays 2 teams without their starting qb while we are facing a tough kc team first.

Of course this is mostly assuming we handle business next week.

I don't expect denver to put up much of a fight against the raiders if they lose tomorrow at kc. Just beat miami in miami

Does this now mean that if the Raiders lose to Denver next week, and we win against Miami, we get homefield?

If OAK loses NE does not need to win.

NE gets the #1 seed:
  • With an OAK loss or tie, OR
  • With a NE win or tie.
Or put another way, there is only one way for OAK to get the #1 seed -- a NE loss and OAK win. Any other outcome by either team gives the #1 to NE.

If Carr is out for the season that really sucks, he was a bright spot for the league this season and would have brought much more intrigue to the playoffs. Even though I hate the Raidah's I liked them returning to relevance.

Oh well, I'll just have to console myself with Lombardi #5.

Don't get too overconfident my friend. You still have to play the games.

Its a division rival and the last game in mile high this year, denver wont roll over whether theyre playoff eligible or not imo.

That said, i think we should and will play everyone next week except maybe amendola/hightower/slater if theyre still dinged.

Let's hope that miami has everything wrapped up. Homefield advantage's a must.

Pats play at 1pm. OAK at 4pm. Won't know OAK's outcome until after the Pats play.

Amazing that people haven't learned from last season.

Last season and this season are completely different. We lost all of our weapons and Oline men last season. We didn't get Jules back until the Divisional round. Gronk was banged up with his knee.

This season the only thing we have lost is Gronk and everyone else is still healthy. If HFA was locked up they would rest guys for at least the 2nd half of the game.

But because Oakland could win the #1 seed with a win in Denver.. which is highly unlikely now. We have to play Miami like a regular game.

They were very thin at the end of last season, I think Bill put a game plan together in Miami last season to protect players. Tried to win but on Bills terms.. and it didn't work out.. running Steven Jackson 27 times in a row is a recipe for a loss.

Players get injured in practice. Play to win in Miami.

Last season we were also dealing with the fear of facing Denver in Mile High. Even if we lose and Oakland wins and gets the 1st seed, you really think they're threats like Denver? Especially without Carr? They might not even win their divisional game and the playoffs will still go through NE. Heck,we probably beat them @Oakland too.

Though, I agree with the fact that we should play to win and start Brady.

Brady will and should start Sunday - the #1 seed is at stake.

This sucks for the league, though. Just another example of how, when you're at the top, not-getting-injured becomes priority 1 over the last few weeks. It's just a messed up reality of football in general, that by the end of the season the standouts end up being the teams that were lucky enough not to get massacred by injury. That's the biggest difference between the 2014 and 2016 Pats vs. 2015, at least as of now. Losing Gronk was huge, but we're pretty lucky to not have any other core players out for the season.

If KC beats Denver tomorrow they will have a chance to beat San Diego next week for the 2 seed, Oakland will lose at Denver for sure now in week 17.

Then the first round of the playoffs would be Raiders without Carr at Texans/Titans

If Denver loses tomorrow does Miami lock up a wild card?

Yup, which would give them nothing to play for on Sunday. Would not have guessed a few weeks back that we'd have more to play for than they would in week 17.

I think this team is starting to take shape without Gronk. Losing him is big for sure, but we look great without him.

Go All In next week, leave no prisoners. Our confidence is riding high, keep it going only a plus going into Playoffs.
