No joke. Offer the second second-rounder, bake the books for 09 and cross your fingers for uncapped 2010. Even still, they could get him this year, then make the tough decision on Moss in 2010 to make it work capwise.

Honestly, at that low a price, you almost have to try to get the guy to block a team like the Ravens or Fish improving drastically with Boldin.

Operating in a reactionary mode is a good way to shoot yourself in the foot.

If the guy represents a good value for you, you get him, if he doesn't, you don't.

Chad Johnson is a better value than Boldin right now. I think a 3rd gets him.

Boldin is a much better player at this point than Johnson IMO and I don't think its even close. If it's really a 2nd for Boldin or 3rd for Johnson I don't know how many people would choose Johnson.
 
What would we need Boldin for? We have enough cash invested in our receivers. If we break the bank on another one, that's less money we can spend on the defense, as well as injuries.
