Can't remember the last time I've been this unimpressed with the AFC

This is why I will not concede the season even after we lost Gronk today.... I really think an injury crippled and flawed in many ways Pats team can win this thing.

And this team has no quit in them. Probably the first time post dynasty I've felt that way. There might be something special brewing here this season...

On any given Sunday

or Just win baby!

The Patriots are getting it done. At times it's very ugly, but then there are the moments of shear brilliance. The grit and resilience this team displays.

Even as banged up as they are, any team that has Brady at QB and Belichik coaching it, can still compete with anybody and win.:rocker:

luck is more useful than skill, or injuries in any given season

and it appears lady luck is over our shoulders this year

Yes it is not very strong. BTW, with the win today it makes 11 years in a row the Patriots have won at least 10 games.

It would be absolutely embarrassing if Denver doesn't win the AFC. They have the red carpet laid out for them. Injuries rest of the AFC has, especially the patriots, has gone beyond ridiculous. I'm not saying I think Denver will win btw, I think Peyton and Wes will choke in the 1st round. But, this should be a huge hit to Peyton's legacy if they don't get it done.

Why single out AFC? Who is the elite team in the NFL as of today?

The AFC from 1984 to 1997 was pretty unimpressive.

I think anyone that has been watching football would tell you SEATTLE...and they would be right. I think Denver is second.....and I predict that will be your SB (unfortunately) unless the giant forehead has one of his typical playoff meltdowns! Pats cant hang with better teams right now ....too many injuries....not enough talent at key skilled positions....not their year this year...

Right now, this year is reminding me of boxing, where styles make fights.

Bengals, Ravens and Chiefs are bad matchups for the Patriots.

Broncos, Colts and Dolphins would seem to be better matchups.

I don't know about the Pats' chances, but i wouldn't be surprised if the AFC team that makes it to the big dance would have their behinds handed to them by the NFC team, whether it be the Seahawks, the 49'ers, or even the Saints. It just seems like the NFC has more complete teams this season.

The defending champs are one team that's flying a bit under the radar.

I'd rather them not make the playoffs to be honest. They are not a good matchup for the Pats and I would rather not have another rematch....

Before the season the drips under pressure, the "experts", had 9 of the top 10 as an NFC teams. When the victories were at 11-3 for the AFC I quit keeping track. It is farcical to thingk that the Cowboys, Redskins, Giants, Lions, Bears or Packers were anything but way overrated.

The 49ers wil eventually have a QB who has played 16 games or a seasons' worth but they don't, nor do the SeaHawks, nor do the Eagles.

The Packers were 5-2 before Rodgers went down, with a 6 point road loss to the 49ers and a 4 point road loss to the Bengals, both games where the Packers had a lead in the 4th quarter.

I'm not seeing how that's overrated.

Wilson started all 16 games for Seahawks last yr plus all this yr
Kaepernick is at 20

Packers were not way overrated.

AFC is a joke this year..colts are pretty bad.

Bengals D can dominate this O. Denvers can't. Well with no gronk we may find out

Yes on the AFC - when Gronk went down yesterday, the only way I was able to rationalize not totally going into the dumps was the fact that the AFC is WIDE open this year. Anything can happen and if this team can pull one or maybe two more rabbits out of their hate, they're in the big game in NYC in potentially inclement weather.

And while routing for the Ravens(who are only trumped by the Jets as far as franchises I despise most)goes against all my instincts, think this through.

Baltimore locks up the 6 seed, they go on the road to Cinci in the first round. They have a much better chance to beat a Cinci team I want no part of than KC or Indy does. If Baltimore wins that game, we then get the winner of a KC/Indy matchup, which is practically set already. Baltimore goes back to Denver, which will put that fan base and franchise on edge given last year. Baltimore is also playing with house money this year. While seeing Baltimore again isn't ideal in the AFCCG, still a better game than going to Denver.

All said, I see very few teams that will be able to go on the road and win at Cinci in that 6 seed. San Diego ain't doing it, Miami ain't doing it. I don't want to play Cinci - if you catch Dalton on a hot day, that is a well balanced and talented football team.

Send Baltimore back to Denver, send the winner of the KC/Indy game to NE. Those are the Pats best odds.

I think it's mainly down to injuries, the Colts were really good up until Wayne got hurt, the Pats have been good despite a tonne of injuries. If everyone is healthy the top teams in the league for me are Seattle, New England, Denver, New Orleans, San Fran, Green Bay, Indy, Cincy.
