Can KC go 19-0?

Let's just pray the Bills can beat them this week and get it over with.
It's funny, we've turned into the '72 Dolphins, not wanting anyone to ever go 16(17)-0 again.

Although, if the Zebras can get out of the way, @Bills, Chargers, Texans, @Steelers, @Broncos - all have a decent shot of beating them.
You know the zebras have a gigantic hard on for the chiefs and won't get out of the way. Expecting lots of uncalled holding and false starts....I can't say we EVER had the refs in our pockets like they do....

Reid crushed it with multiple QBs for sure. But the thing that Bill will never get the credit for is the winning he did with Brady before he was GOAT level. Like let's just be for real... Tom Brady from 2001 to 2004 was not the GOAT. Not even close. He continued to get better and better throughout his career and to pretend like he was a GOAT level player early on would honestly be disrespectful to his efforts to improve over the course of his career.

Brady from 01-04 is a lot more like the McNabb/Alex Smith's of the world that Reid has won with, but never won it all with like BB did 3 times. Reid could never actually win it all until he got Mahomes playing at levels we've probably never seen for. BB will never get to take credit for winning with multiple QBs in his time here, but he absolutely proved he could win multiple super bowls without GOAT level QB play. He'll just never get the credit for it because the non-GOAT level QB he won with went on to grow into a GOAT level player.
Bill went 5-11 and 0-2 here until Drew went down. Then Brady stepped in and the team went 11-3 his first year and won 3 of 4 SBs. In between he led the Pats to the NYFL record for consecutive wins. But you think he was a lot more like McNabb or Alex Smith? That's ridiculous.

You do realize that Bill had 8 losing seasons out of 11 without Brady. That certainly doesn't prove that "he absolutely proved he could win multiple super bowls without GOAT level QB play." It actually proves that he couldn't.

Why wasn’t Brady already a GOAT level player back then. He wasn’t a one-off, he won 3 in 4 seasons and the comparisons to Montana were already being made. Sounds like a GOAT level QB to me.

All he's saying is that Brady hadn't reached his peak yet. When did he win his first league MVP?

Why does that matter? He was already in the conversation by a lot of people after 3 of 4. Feel free to google back then if you want to see for yourself.

Yes and the poster was talking about during not after. And it matters because Bill was still in the process of molding and coaching Brady up to become the player that he would rise to become. You know the sort of thing that made them both GOATs.

If 2004 Brady is in the GOAT conversation being compared to Montana - and he was - then how can that not be "GOAT-level play". GOAT is not a milestone or a statistic, it's a perception.

When you look at the Chiefs statistically this year they are fairly pedestrian in most categories. There are a couple that stands out and one in particular is on 3rd down they lead the league with 52% of the time converting. That's just huge when you consider the fact they are 10th in total offense, 9th in passing and 21st in rushing. I think the two things that make them so good on 3rd down is the play calling and Mahomes. The other two things that stands out is on the defensive side of the ball. They rank 3rd against the rush and are 5th for points allowed. Spagnuolo is just a good coach, no arguing that.

The question is does this team go undefeated. No they will not. Why do I say this you may wonder , because of history. Is the 2024 Chiefs better than the 2007 Pats, I think we all can agree on the answer being unequivocally no. If that is a fact then the Chiefs will not run the tables, period. I know that folks will say its comparing apples to oranges, different era in football, different teams blah blah blah. But believe in what the eye test has shown you. This team has won only 2 games by more than 7 points this season. I have seen luck, the refs and implosions by other teams tip the scales to a Chiefs victory more than once this season. The probability of snatching a victory from the jaws of defeat weekly is diminishing. And when the playoffs starts there will be no more games with the bottom of the league.

I don't think they will finish the regular season undefeated and I don't believe they win the Super Bowl. Time will tell how well this post ages and I am sure plenty of people on here will remind me if it doesn't age well

Posters seem to have revisionist history regarding Tom. By 2004, he was already being inducted into the HOF by the media and in the Montana conversation. The Manning and Brady debates made their rivalry great. The NFL is boring as hell now.

Posters are warped by the rule changes and inflated statistics they see now. They look at Brady’s stats in the early 2000’s and think they were pedestrian levels.

Hey we have some progress it seems you at least agree with @Hugepatsfan from 01-03.

Both things can be true. Bill's coaching was more pivotal to the first run than the second and Tom already well established his place in the HoF.

And way more posters have revisionist history when it comes to Bill. I mean just about everyone loves Brady, Most love both, and then there are the nuts who seem to think you have to pit them vs each other in some sort of sick twisted game that they will seemingly never let end.

Brady had GOAT level play already from 01-04. Otherwise exactly nobody would have been comparing him to Montana. That wouldn't be a thing.

Bill himself said he would be way less successful without Brady and it's a players game.

Obviously he's just a hater.

Again both things can be true players game and Bill's coaching was more important to the first run than the second. Some day you might realize that you're always going to be the clown in these debates because you hate Bill and I love both Bill and Brady so things like your quote above just make me smile because Bill knows how good Bill is and has no problem giving Brady all the credit he deserves. It's not some cudgel for your made up debate. It's just the GOAT coach bragging about the GOAT player that he developed and coached into a player capable of winning 7 SBs.

There was the Joe Cool way that he played the game with and the fact he grew up a fan that started the comparisons but they really picked up steam when he got closer to the same number of rings.

Bill said he coached a lot of great players - not just Brady - and he's lucky he got to do so. They made him successful. His words.

Yep Bill is such a Belichick HaTeR. It's obvious.

Yes. When you're being compared to Joe...that's what I'd call GOAT-level play.

You mean 20-0? They can. I'd lean towards no. But after they beat Buffalo, they will have maybe one more tough game remaining. @Steelers maybe?

Are you arguing with yourself? Nobody is saying Tom isn't the GOAT. You're so desperate to hate you just manufacture arguments that no one is even having.
