Campbell and Skoronski similarities

A lot of people would be concerned about constantly giving off the appearance of being a whiny self indulgent putz continuously seeking new ways to ***** about the same thing in an ever so slightly different way. But not our Sam, bless his heart
A comparison based on arm length? Let's compare QBs based on hand size

The combine arm measures were faulty:
His arms are 33", the same as Slater and within 1/4" of Sewell, two of the top 5 OT's in the league
.
Also, wingspan doesn't matter at all. When does an OT ever have both his arms extended out to his sides?

I see Vederian Lowe with both of his really long arms extended all the way as defensive linemen and linebackers run by him all the time.

Here is the thing that gets me about all the talk about Campbell. He was consistently considered by the majority of so called experts as the top of the group for LT coming into this draft. Once the combine came around and his measurements we now have people saying he will be a guard in the NFL because of arm length/wingspan. But yet those experts who ranked him in college based it on game footage going against guys who are currently or will be playing in the NFL. I get the concern but just like everything in life there are those outliers and he may very well be someone who breaks the mold. I trust the game play more than a measurement. I mean if they didn't do the measurements at the combine/pro day would half the people who have issues with him being a LT still have concerns as to whether he could play the position or not?

What I have learned through this draft process is that the things that I thought were important, like the ability to play football, athleticism, production, character etc etc really don’t matter at all. And what really matters is how long your arms are. That’s it. That’s all that matters. And this really simplifies the entire process from here on out, and next year hopefully all of the college basketball forwards and centers who don’t make it to the NBA will all put in for the NFL Draft, and will then dominate the next NFL Draft.

Dante said arm Length doesn’t matter
he didnt't exactly say that, but who cares we have selected WC now so let's support him

The more I think about Campbell's arm length, the more I think it is a red herring.

Arm length is about leverage, which impacts the work done by a force (force x distance). Say Campbell's inches are 1.5 inches less than average for his position, that is a 4.1% difference. Physically speaking, in terms of arm length alone, Campbell should generate about 4% less push that average.

There is plenty we don't know about how this physics works. Does Campbell's height give him a leverage advantage over a tackly who is 6'5" or 6'4"? Does his short winspan give him a disadvantage, or does it give him an advantage because his body weight is concentrated more into a narrow center?

Is it possible that 34 is not a magic number at all? That, instead, statistically speaking, men who are 6'4" or taller just tend to have 34" arms?

What???? Vederian Lowe has 35 3/8 inch arms and will beat out Will Campbell for the starting job. Didn't you know? Forget Campbell's tape, technique, or what Vrabel sees. All that matters is arm length and Lowe is our LT of the future. We should have drafted a rookie RB who would have instantly been in the top 3 salary range without ever playing a snap. That way we can go even higher on his second contract. Maybe we just plan ahead and roll over that cap space for the next 5 years. We don't care about red herrings. We want RB. Oh, did I mention that last year we should have taken a LT instead of a QB. We could have had a LT and Shedeur this year. Right Sam?

Just take a look at all the guys with 34 plus arms who suck. It’s about technique, and not letting guys with longer arms get them under yours, that’s how they gain the advantage, and Campbell’s athleticism and techniques will offset having slightly shorter arms. Marrone is going to have a very willing student when he gets Campbell into camp, the kid wants to be great, and will work his ass off to get there.

Felger is out on Campbell because of his measurements. I'm sold, let's pick him tonight.

100% agree. Felger openly hates the draft and knows absolutely nothing about it. Years ago WEEI had him hosting on Saturday afternoon of the draft, and I was working and listening to it, and all he could talk about was how stupid the draft is, and he encouraged everyone listening to call in and talk about the Bruins. He’s a poser, nothing more, he has ZERO credibility.

Only player realistic to 4 I’d be pissed about is Jeanty. You don’t take a RB at 4 when you aren’t already a deep playoff contender.

I wouldn’t necessarily have been pissed if we took a RB, but if we took either a P or K….THEN I could see myself being pissed… .
