It's easy, and only takes a few moments. As with many others nearing retirement, the nosedive in the economy may be wreaking havoc with many athletes' and coaches' retirement plans. I know I'm further away from retirement than I was a year ago, and that is undoubtedly true for some players who would otherwise be hanging them up. I read Tedy's book, and he has been careful with his money, but there aren't many people who are better off now than they were a year ago.

depends on waht happens to cassel and how many draft picks we have for this upcoming year
if we have a lot, then i think we will have to let go more of our veterans (ie. rodney and bruschi) in order to incorporate the rookies
we have a LOT of young players from last year, and if most of them can make the team, then we already have too many in the final roster, and cant fit any more players period
the older players will go b4 we release young players w/ potential
Yes but do you see us going after another young ILB when we have Guyton and Mayo?
You want more youth on De. Mayo...
Riess just posted in his mailbag (the last question) that Rodney wants to come back. Bruschi has one more year so I can see Rodney coming back for a 1 year contract, and then both retiring the year after. That would be a nice feelgood story, but I hope they'd be willing take a backup role.
Ask Reiss: Moving parts - The Boston Globe

Linebacker Bruschi wants to return to the Patriots - The Boston Globe
Wonder if Rodney will as well?

Love Bruschi. But if Bruschi, Vrabel, and Rodney all return ( and yes I love them all too ), it will be hard to increase the overall speed of the defense,IMHO.
He is more of a coverage LB but I don't recall him getting picked on in the run game. There were a few games that we struggled against the run but I don't remember anything that would make me blame Guyton for it, if anything I recall it more being Warren's injury and later Seymour's that were the areas that struggled against the run.
