Tate and Nicks somewhat like Welker and Moss? You have to be kidding me. That Carolina team was flashy but a classic UNC mediocrity. Carolina football is absolutely no predictor of pro success. The basketball program attracts top flight talent and is a pretty steady source of solid and sometimes better pros.

Tate is fighting to make the team and if he does, he's what, the #4 or #5 option behind the tight ends?

It would be great if this guy stays healthy and catches a couple of passes a game just to keep defenses honest and safeties from rotating to Moss' slot on every play. Randy Moss is amazing to me how he gets jammed, has coverage come his way and is willing to play possession and short yardage downs knowing he'll get popped on every play. If Tate can be a shadow of Dante Stallworth and earn a little attention from a CB and the safety on his side, it would be great.

You need to work on your reading comprehension.

You probably don't want more than two "slot-style" receivers on the field at once -- and that includes your TE. So Hernandez, Welker, and Edelman won't often make sense in a package together.

Are you going on his numbers the last two years to make this statement? You do realise he was in Jacksonville last year with David Garrard where no receiver broke 900 yards? And the season before that he was in St. Louis and led the Rams with 800 yards on a terrible team?

Did I say anything about numbers? I am basing that statement on reports from multiple sources coming out of training camp, both media and "normal" people. There are a number of reports stating that he hasn't looked good; while energetic looking, he doesn't get great separation in his routes; and questions if the little separation he is getting in training camp would translate to the regular season. On top of that is the simple fact that he is 34 years old and it isn't hard to assume that he has lost a step or two.

He must be a proctologist........bet he has some good stories.........it was a million to one shot doc a million to one.

I think he might be "Mr. Ass" Billy Gunn.

Oddly, this is my second obscure early 2000's wrestling pun of the week. I don't know what's wrong with me.
