2010 already got off a tough start for Brady. After 1st qtr of the 1st pre-season game, he has a broken finger.

That's after 2009, he suffered a broken finger and 3 fractured ribs.

That's after 2008, he suffered MCL/ACL in the first game that cost his season.

Is this just result of bad luck? or there is more to this disturbing trend? Just tossing out 2 theories here:

Either his protection has been very poor; or,
He has developed bad habits or lacks pocket presence that he used to have.

Any thoughts?

I did not mean it as a slam at either OL or Brady; but I believe some adjustements by both the OL and QB should be made.

While I think injury is just part of the game, I am concerned that Brady seems to have some issues with his protection; the cohesion between QB and OL needs to improve.

For whatever reason, he has more tendency to get into trouble now than before (pre-07 years). It seems that 07 changed how he plays QB and he became more aggressive in passing game trying to hit on more big plays. I cringe when he braces himself up like a statue on the long throw with a defender crashing into him. I kinda prefer him to move around, take a shorter target, and throw on the run, maybe sacrifice a little in distance and acuracy but save his health. He actually used to be real good with the slide and step. I know throwing on the run is not his forte but still you don't want to be a sitting target.

Again, the intention is to discuss root causes and potential adjustements so we have him healthy for the entire campaign.
