This article sounds a little familiar: Mayfield: Brady comments 'taken out of context'

Mayfield: "The building was a little bit different with Tom in there," Mayfield said. "Obviously, playing-wise, Tom is different. He had everybody dialed in, high-strung environment, so I think everybody was pretty stressed out. ... They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football, for guys who weren't having as much fun."

Brady responds: "I thought stressful was not having Super Bowl rings. So, there was a mindset of a champion that I took to work every day. This wasn't daycare. If I was going to have fun, I'd go to Disneyland with my kids. There's a way to approach this game and it's with the right mindset to try to push each other outside our comfort zone, and great teammates do that."

Ouch, I just find it funny that people are saying the exact same things about both Brady and Belichick.

Baker Mayfield doesn't have what it takes is the take home message kids.

Scrolled through and didn't see any comments by ex teammates criticizing him. Just Mayfield, who was never Brady's teammate.

??? Mayfield said Brady stressed-out the locker room.

Players weren't having much fun. Mayfield brought the joy back.

F*** that, you want to bring the joy back go to a GD strip-mall in Jupiter, if that's your idea of a happy ending to a season, Baker effin Mayfield. Dang you have a great name/endorsement game. I don't even feel the popular Brady fealty, I'm just sick of guys making millions of dollars to play a game who don't even know you play to win it. Damn I just quoted a Jets coach. I'm sure Baker would prefer I quote "let's go eat a GD snack." This guy just caught me on a bad day.

Mayfield was never a teammate of Tom Brady
I never said he was...

You think Mayfield is lying about his Bucs teammates telling him this?

For the sake of fairness and context, I'll say let's keep in mind Brady was going through an ugly divorce where his wife was banging the karate instructor. If he found it extra difficult to crack jokes and laugh his last year or two, I wouldn't hold it against him.

Apparently your "???" meant something other than what I took it to mean, the only Buc talking was Mayfield
@Brotherblues take was the same as mine. No former teammate of Brady's said anything. Mayfield implys it was FO / coaching staff but the only one having anything attributed to them is Mayfield.

What does this have to do with coaches?

He's clearly referencing players in every statement.

Stressed Out Locker room = Players.
No joy = Players.
No fun = Players.

Given his prior reputation of being a party boy who isn't very serious, it boggles my mind to think the coaches would encourage him to take things less seriously than Brady.

But regardless, it is VERY clear that Brady understood it the way I understood it. Brady talked about players, having that winning mentality, pushing one another, it's not day care.

Don't you think Brady is referencing the players there?

You seem to have mistaken me for Andy. I'm going to dispel that by doing something he never would: YOU WIN
I am not having a drawn out discussion over some idiot sht Baker Mayfield spewed out and my response to your question marks, lol.
Have a good night

Finding actual negative things to say about Brady is a mighty tall order, on or off the field.

Bill came across great and was appreciative of Brady's approach. I think he was referring to that when he said he was the same way.

B&B was a match made in heaven... for Pats fans.

Maybe his source is lying but without a name it's impossible to check.

As many comics at the roast reminded us, the divorce was triggered by him going back on his word to his wifte to retire and not play that last season where he went 8-9. Things were all set up for him to sail off into the sunset after winning that seventh super bowl with his buddy Gronk, but nope, he had to cling on for that last season while making everyone around him miserable.

Sounds like one of those BBoom, Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z workplace articles that seem to pop up here and there.

Thankfully us boomers can stay out of this one, Toamy is late period Gen X...
