Brady: I wouldn't have had the success I've had without Bill

There is no argument, players play, regardless of what a coach does. If they play bad, they are not good, if they play great, they are great. 10 QB's drafted by Bill and not one of them became brady or anything close. So sorry its not a magic wand.
They don’t play if the coach keeps them on the bench…

And your head may explode but it’s too early to say none. Mac is so far looking like he might at least be something close.

Just like his college career at Michigan, right?
Who was his HC at Michigan? I bet he lost more games for Michigan than Brady
bingo!

Brady won one for Arians, with an all-star ensemble supporting cast, using everything he learned over twenty years being coached by Belichick.

no reason to assume he would’ve won one for any other coach without that foundation.
We don't have to assume anything. We have a good body of work to look at and Bill without Tom is 57-66 with 1 playoff win. Brady on the other hand is 15-6 with a 4-0 playoff record.

I feel for anyone who tries to credit Bill over Tom. That can't be an easy sell.

Tom barely lost to Griese and barely beat Henson, almost transferred. If those circumstances didn't happen, maybe he doesn't become the goat. A lot of "top QB pick" try to bring the same comfort in the NFL where everyone is fast and strong and get paid millions, it doesn't work like that.

If Tom didn't get drafted i think he bounce from place to place to a backup role and a starting job but without bill he doesn't become the goat. Having said that the scouts that year did a horrific job, drafting QBs who couldn't play in the nfl ahead of Tom.

They added:
Brady
Gronk
LeSean McCoy
Leonard Fournette
Antonio Brown

yep, no all-stars on that list.
They were added compliments of Tom Brady. Just another ingredient that makes up his Goatness. And anyway, what quarterback ever would become the Goat if they were drafted to a bad team with a bad coaching staff?

Gronk took half the year to get going and McCoy was washed. Fournette (who is an above average RB nothing more) and Brown were out there for anyone to sign but went to Tampa for Brady.

Actually, Henson was given everything on a silver platter based on his potential. He didn't do anything that showed he was better than Brady. Often time he went in, the team regressed, and Brady had to come in to clean up the mess. That was all on Lloyd though. However, it also made Brady the way he is today. It shaped his will and mental toughness.

Regardless Brady learned a lot from BB and BB benefited from having Brady too. The two were a match made in Heaven at a perfect time. The rest is history.

He was drafted to a bad team. I mean not sure if you guys remember, but the patriots were not exactly rattling off superbowls in 2000, and Bill at the time was a good defensive coordiantor but basically a failed head coach.

So in his 4 games with 4 td's and 4 ints, you say he is looking like he will be close to Brady? Ok, yeah this got stupid quickly.

Yeah, no. At some point Brady would have got a chance and made it just fine. You act like Bill groomed him. He came in when bledsoe got hurt because he worked his ass off and became better than anyone expected, when bledsoe went down, he was the first off the bench. He then had one chance. He didnt have 3 years to wait and see. He had one shot to make it. If he goes in and they continue to lose, its back to the bench. He took advantage of that shot. To say he wouldnt elsewhere based on nothing is not accurate.

What if I said. If Bledsoe didnt get hurt, Bill would not be the coach of the Patriots right now? Because that is probably the more likely scenario.

You honestly think that Mac is looking like he may be "something close" to Brady?

Boy the bar has really shot down when it comes to QB play around here. lol

i think Mac is promising and a better fit here than any of the other rookies not named Lawrence - who the Pats had no shot of getting anyway. Very glad they didn’t trade up for Fields that would have been a disaster. If he stays healthy I think the kid has an NFL career in some form ahead of him. I don’t see him flaming out like say Matt Leinart did.

That’s as far as I’m willing to go right now. He’s a raw rookie with 5 games of NFL experience playing strictly within a system right now. Still hasn’t thrown for 300 yards in a game yet. Also hasn’t beaten a good team. Im not sure he looks that much better than Jimmy did if he does at all at the same point of his career tbh. I think Mac’s floor is system QB and no idea what his ceiling can be.

But I’m sure the ceiling isn’t Brady. That’s an unfair expectation for the kid.

Fields is basically a running Qb who cannot throw. Bad combo. I think JG looked better in his brief games he played. Yes though, if he had played like Huebert in his rookie year, I would be saying, wow this is going to be something. Right now? He has 5 td's and 5 ints, same as David Mills. He is throwing a lot of protected by playcalling passes. If they were to take the training wheels off and say, hey we need 30 points to win this game, could he? Dont know. If we are facing the Bills and that defense, and we need him to have a great game or we lose, could he? Dont know. I mean our two wins are over the jets and texans. Basically people are saying that because we are not 0-4 and he does not have 12 picks, that he is the next great one. There are so many things he has not even experienced or proved he can do, because, oh yeah he is a 4 game played rookie. Its silly to bash him for having a average season as much as it is to put him in canton and call him the next Brady. I have a bad feeling pats fans are going to be looking for the next Brady for a long time.

So, positive Brady threads stay in the main forum, others go to the Tom Brady forum?

Makes more sense to me to just put them all in the Tom Brady forum.

It's not like we haven't had a chance to express our opinions on the subject.

I would not call this a positive Brady thread. lol Oh and this might be a shock, but I think Brady is going to get mentioned on pats boards for awhile. Like it or not, he is pretty well written into this teams history.

Huh?
Can that actually be quantified?
