How could we possibly have lost a #1, 4 4 game suspension and a million dollars based on a lie? Reporters like Tomase laid the groundwork.

Sports reporters still talk about the Pats filming Rams walk throughs as if it wasn't a lie.

I don't live in the area, nor do I care for the crap on most sports talk radio anyway, but if you do...
how in good conscience can you listen to Twinkie the Kid talk Patriots?

He replaced an outstanding baseball writer, Alex Speier, at WEEI. Such a shame. I've been avoiding WEEI ever since. Speier writes for the Globe now which only allows three free articles per month. F Tomase. His trespassing is not redeemable. F him.

Its just troll click bait bs.. the NFL fans around the country are so pissed off that the Pats have owned the NFL for 16 years they cling on to idea's and articles like this.

People really want to believe the Patriots cheat.. there is just to much hate out there.. they will bring up **** from the past.. make **** up.. over exaggerate.. writers know they will get clicks if they keep on reporting these wild conspiracies.

Tomase and his fat f-ing a** should have been tar and feathered. Then strapped to a horse and ran out of town. Scratch that. Not a horse, a nearly dead diseased donkey.

Yeah I feel that strong about him. When he came back from his "vacation", I knew the landscape had changed. After what he did he should be flipping burgers in Toledo not anywhere near a microphone in Boston.

I was listening to T N T Tomasshole and Trini **** heads on WEEI on Saturday.. I woke up and the radio was on.. and they were like oh... people want to talk about the Patriots... it was like torture for them to talk about the Pats.. Are these 2 ****s seriously demented? Firstly to you T n T the Pats are the #1 sports franchise in New England... 2.) Its Playoff time 3.) There was a regular season game on the next day 4.) **** off

I could see if it was like March or April and they didn't feel like talking about the Pats... but its the middle of the NFL season and they were basically *****ing and complaining that people wanted to talk about the Pats.. I honestly cant ****ing believe it, they are on Boston Sports talk Radio and they dont want to talk about the Pats.. heading into the NFL playoffs.. wow advice, Go get another JOB! You SUCK!

Sorry I cant stand them

For crissake, I heard Lou Merloni casually mention the walk-through not long ago as if it were an accepted fact. I also heard just before Christmas Bertrand and Zolak (of all people) allow a habitual Patriot-hating caller to reference the same incident without correcting him. The Rams taping is an "accepted as true" lie similar to the Ainge Bit Tree Rollins episode is, despite the fact that that one was the other way around. It's lazy, not bothering to be informed journalism.

I mentioned this the other day on patsfans. I was doing errands on Saturday and heard Tomase on weei. I normally switch the station when he is on but I got so pissed hearing his voice. They were talking about Ortiz. I called in to weei for the first time and started talking about Ortiz. I quickly switched the subject and said, "I have a question for you John. Do you have any breaking news on Matt Walsh?" They hung up on me immediately. Tomase responded, "I knew that was coming and briefly made fun of me." Trenni talked for about a minute about how people make mistakes and painted Tomase to be the victim! Tomase is the worst. I'm going back to switching the radio or tv station anytime I hear his voice. He caused a huge distraction for the team before the 07 SB and made up rumors that people believe are true to this day. I think all pats fans should consider asking him the same question I did.

Thomase still believes that his story is correct, but that there was not enough real source to print it was the only actual problem. He apologized bitterly in his mind believing it 100% still. Many in the media are of that opinion (Marshall Faulk)..... That Pats got off on a technicality. They do think they filmed it.
EDIT:I just wanted to add that this is NOT what I think. I am just saying what I think Thomase thinks

Same fat lying A=hole. Why he is still in Boston is a mystery.

Honestly, I was unaware that the Rams walkthrough story was confirmed to be false. As much of a Pats fan that I am, I'm not as interested in these off field stories so only follow them loosely.

The funny part of it though, was that the Pats were thought to be filming the Rams redzone plays. The Rams scored a TD on their only redzone opportunity of the game.

None of us has seen a single shred of evidence that the Patriots taped the Rams' walkthrough. None.

That was all just a total hit job. And we know now that Spygate was the impetus for Deflategate.

To everyone else in the league (including most fan bases), Deflategate was just another example of the Patriots' cheating culture.

But when you really stop and look at it, as objectively as you can, you realize that:

(1) The Patriots DID violate the rules about taping. They did. Not all of their taping was against the rules, but enough of it was that it warranted a punishment, IMO. Not the ridiculous punishment they actually received, but SOME punishment.

(2) The sense from other owners was that this taping really was crucial to the Patriots' success, and they DID see it as a form of cheating. So they were livid when Goodell destroyed the tapes, because they felt like it was a much bigger deal than maybe it was made out to be. Of course, I think jealousy of the Patriots and hatred of Belichick was a factor there.

(3) The Rams' walkthrough story was devastating because it came after the Patriots had received their penalty. And everyone felt like, WHOA WAIT A MINUTE, WHAT THE #$!!@#! HAPPENED??? And thus the idea was that the penalty was way too light. The retraction was completely irrelevant because, like with the 11 of 12 balls 2 psi and under meme, this narrative just had rocket fuel. And it immediately became a permanent part of the story. Nearly EVERYONE thinks that the Patriots did this.

(4) So when we get to Deflategate, it's just another example of the Patriots cheating. And so even though there really was no evidence the Pats did anything wrong, the other owners, still stung by what they felt was a too-small penalty for Spygate (even though it was, to that point in time, the biggest penalty ever levied). So there was a real serious push to absolutely freaking NAIL the Patriots to the wall for Deflategate.

So Deflategate was really a penalty for Spygate, which was really, when it's all boiled down, a league-wide frustration over the lack of a penalty for the Patriots taping the Rams' SB walkthrough.

Which, of course..... NEVER FREAKING HAPPENED.

It's all so frustrating. And then Deflategate is used as evidence of the Pats' "cheating culture" which helps proved that they probably DID tape the Rams' walkthrough. It's all circular, and it's all based on things which DID NOT HAPPEN. Either taping the Rams' walkthrough or deflating footballs.

It's insane. Completely insane.

Sorry, as noted above I only follow these things loosely.......did something recently come up and that is why it is being discussed again?

I don't see the date on the newspaper but I see a mention of Beckett so clearly this isn't today's paper.

Do IT!!!!

It is, after all, your PATRIOTic duty!

It wasn't about the taping it was about camera placement. In fact the Jets could have legally taped the Patriots signals during the same game and probably did.

In the old Jet stadium the camera booths were located on the opposite side of the Patriots sideline so it would have been impossible for BB to have a camera located with the same filming advantage as the jets had during that game.

BB ignored a memo about camera placement on the sidelines which wasn't a "rule" and Spygate was born.

Taping the opposing team's sidelines still may be legal today. Not sure how helpful it would be trying to memorize hand signals though.

They like to say that deflategate was a makeup call for spygate but both should have been frivolous in house type issues but the Puppet and a few of his owners decided to take the Pats down a notch.
