I posted this on the Kenny Britt thread too, but scott99's comment there got me to thinking maybe it should have its own thread. Was Borges the only one who heard this? Because he's the only one reporting it AFAIK. Even Borges wouldn't fabricate something like this.

I didn't think so either. The Pats had enough trouble with injury in the WR corps last year. They didn't need a guy with bad knees and a checkered history with the law, to boot. That said, they do need another WR and everything is pointing to them pulling the trigger on one in the draft.

EDIT: And before you non-draftniks go nuts this is a DEEEEEEP draft for WR's. So I would say that it's either a WR in the draft again or the Pats are waiting on DeSean Jackson to be set free from Philly. The former seems more realistic to me.

It could have been a favor but I think it was more like "If the patriots are interested then we should be interested too" type variety.

I don't know how I feel about this on the one hand before the Patriots had interest in him I always said he didn't fit the locker room or team atmosphere here.

On the other hand people can change especially with God or a good woman or role model in their life.

If we pass on a Britt In his upswing to talent and his morality to watch him sign with a division rival Buff nyj then it be sickening to think we didn't give this young man a good chance to show he is redeemed.

I feel like we need a big receiver and where we pick in this draft the Mike Evans and Kelvin Benjamin's will be long gone unless we trade up.

It will be interesting to see Britt's season for sure.

Another thought I hope Kraft didn't trump BB on this decision and turn away who Bill thought was a rising player on a fair deal.

The knowledge that Bill wasn't there or directly spoke with him may just show the lack of interest BB even had maybe our staff met him and heard something or saw something where they collectively decided wasn't worth the risk.

Didnt the visit TO FOXBORO occur DURING THE NFL MEETING in FL.

A little unreasonable making an issue (read tea-leaves) out of BB not being able to be in 2 places at same time.

That said; CHECK YOUR SOURCE. If it is coming from Borg-azz, it seems more like he is playing the %s then that he is doing actual reporter-work.

For about 31 out of 32 FAs the Patriots WILL NOT be the destination. Kraft is unlikely to confirm or deny this 'report'; so Borg-azz can claim I was right later even if he was not right about Kraft vetoing but that Britt didnt fit for different reasons.

I had trouble believing that Kraft would undercut his coach/GM by announcing something like that when I read the text just on its merits; knowing it came from Borg-azz just gives it less credibility-authenticity.

Because Borges is a plagiarizer and a liar, who hasn't written a complimentary piece on the Pats since his butt buddy Bill Parcells left the building. After that his only 2 "sources" were Beldsoe and Seymour. Beldsoe exited in 2002 and Seymour in 2008. Both moves were badly panned by Borges and both turned out to be big wins for the Pats.

So basically Chris, Wrong Borges has no more insight at what goes one inside the Pats organization than you are I do. He gets all his "inside" information from pals in the media. the rest he makes up and hopes they turn out to be true. And when he's wrong, he'll never acknowledge it (like most mediots).
