It'll be interesting to see what happens. Reports are now that he DIDN'T sign for the minimum, but rather a 2 million + deal... which is much more consistent with the overall feel in this thread that he has talent and was going to need a reasonable amount of compensation to sign.

I do understand the reasoning of wanting to leave a loser to join a winner. I also get it - athletes can pick up insurance to make sure they "feed their family"... I just found it interesting that Foxworthy/Wilson deals couldn't be had. And I am still not certain why someone would leave a decent deal on the table to "cash in" in free agency when there is so much uncertainty. But, then again, even Boras pulled a Varitek...
