Blount has made himself some money recently

And here Blount claims that there's a concrete reason for his recently improved play -- personal coaching from BB to lower his pad level.

It really makes you wonder what kind of coaching he was getting in Tampa that nobody ever saw fit to mention pad level to him. It would be one thing if nobody really drilled it into him with sufficient force, but the way he spoke about it, it almost seems like nobody in Tampa ever even told him.

I dont think this Fan base share your sentiments on Talib he's been a model citizen here.

I think there was a reason he was only signed to a 1 year deal. Almost everyones a model citizen in a contract year.

On the plus side:

- Blount seems to fit nicely into the Pats' culture and approach
- BB obviously likes him
- He credits BB with helping him develop as a RB
- Aqib Talib is his best friend in football, and gave input on the trade last spring

On the minus side, it's unlikely that the Pats can match what he can get on the open market. The question is whether they can come close enough.

I think the Patriots would go 3/9-10 with clauses but I don't see them going much beyond that. Unfortunately I think others will go well beyond that and it will be an easy decision for him. I love what Blount has brought to this team and want them to stay with the run it down their throats approach, but i really doubt Belichick goes long term big money with a power back. I hope he stays around but if he leaves I still want them running the ball and imposing their will the way they have been lately. There is no better recipe for success for the rest of Brady's career imo than to have a run game that dominates and he can pick and choose his throws.

if he keeps playing like he is and the pats keep winning its going to lead to a super bowl MVP and he will be one of the top FA's on the market

Doubt they resign Blount is he's looking for anything more than 3 m per year. We've got Ridley and Vereen signed for another year, along with Bolden.

They will draft one or use an UDFA. Backs are easy to replace. Money should be allocated elsewhere (Talib).

Ridley and Vereen will be free agents after next year. My feeling is they will resign Vereen and let Ridley walk. Vereen is extremely valuable. Guys like Ridley and Blount are just runners, that's it.

Congratulations, by allowing Blount and Ridley walk in successive years, you have taken a awesome running game that has taken 3 years to build, and made it potentially one of the worst in the league (with random unknown rookies and free agents plus Vereen). Vereen is a 3rd down back who catches as much as he is a runner.

Some of us actually like the idea of having a new Dillon in the backfield.
