Blog: Seymour Q+A on his condition

Why oh why is there no video of this injury floating around out there? This is one the best DL in the game, you'd think a potentially serious injury would be of more importance around the league. Youtube it somebody!!

Seymour mentions an MRI was done on his elbow. If it was okay, isn't that generally reported, just like the result of an xray?

An elbow injury is a bit odd isn't it? I mean it seems like there's only a few things it could be -- broken elbow, strained elbow or tendonitis. Can anyone think of any other possibilities? Broken seems to be the worst case scenario.

During a game they do report some medical information from the team doctors, and after that the team might issue a press release for a very serious injury.

Could have been dislocated but then popped back into the socket?

If thats the case then dont expect him to play this week since the swelling is usually bad.

#28? Rodney? Gruesome?

Can somebody tell me what happened and who was involved, because Seymour didn't help at all with this interview, and the person interviewing him did a terrible job of getting info.

I dislocated my elbow a few years back and the swelling is bad. Plus, I couldn't bend or straighten it fully. So, my range of motion was rigid and less flexible... it took about 2 weeks to get all of that back.

I wondered who the heck #28 was too. He goes on to say Rodney, but obvious 28 doesn't fit. And the RB for the Bills is 31 right? So I can't figure out who 28 would be. Corey obviously didn't bang into Seymour's elbow!

Anthony Thomas is 28 and if he hit his elbow we should be lucky it didnt snap because A-Train is a big boy.

Ahh gotcha. I forgot he was even on the Bills.

I guess I should have consulted the roster.

I guess Thomas was in on the run, Rodney and Seymour both went for the tackle and Rodney hit Sey's arm as he planted it. Bummer. Man, I wish I had video of it. I hate not being able to see an injury when it's so widely reported. I like to be able to draw my own uneducated guesses instead of having to go off of those by the reporters!

OK, it's always tough to read between the lines. But, my guess is that Seymour hyperextended his elbow and will be inactive for the game this week.

"Day to Day" doesn't really mean that he could be fine tomorrow in Patriots lingo. I remember Belichick chuckling when he said you could call Tebucky Jones "day to day" -- 24 hours before he went on IR.

:nono: Let this be a lesson to all who bump NEM rants up by answering with fact, or even cruel laughter at the pathetic ignorance on display. Seymour obviously got caught and had to pay the price.

Around NEM, free speech isn't free.

Hey, give some credit to Seymour (for his non-responsive answers). After all, he learned from the master (BB).

You didn't really expect to find out much of anything about the injury, did you? How long have you been a Patriots fan?

In addition to Green, the Patriots also have Wright, 2004 second-round pick Marquise Hill, and rookie Le Kevin Smith as reserve linemen.

"All those young linemen are working hard and improving, and when they've had a chance to play, they've done a pretty good job," Belichick said.

Hill has appeared in just nine career games, but Belichick indicated he has made progress. If Seymour can't play, he'd likely find his way onto the 45-man game-day roster.

"He's strong, he can play at the point of attack, he's improved his pass-rush techniques," Belichick said. "He's a much more aware player in terms of blocking schemes and recognition. That's improved steadily. I have a lot of confidence in Marquise."
Sey expressed confidence in Marquise, and now BB pitches in, I'm ready to take a close look at him again. Edit: If Sey is cleared to play, I wonder if rotating Green, Wright, and Hill in will put pressure on the Vike's O-line working against fresher D-linemen?

Heh Chris, any chance you can get a few words from Hill?
