This will be the coldest game of Mays career.

You really should preface such posts as OT. Besides, Willie Mays died last year.

Determining the absolute coldest game of Willie Mays' career is difficult as historical box scores rarely listed official game-time temperatures in a consistently tracked manner like modern records do
.
However, many sources indicate that some of the coldest and windiest conditions Mays ever played in were during games at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The park was known for its fierce, cold ocean winds and damp San Francisco nights, which were the bane of players and fans alike.

One particularly famous cold game was a legendary pitching duel on July 2, 1963, where Mays hit a game-winning, 16th-inning walk-off home run off Warren Spahn. This was a cold, windy night game in San Francisco, and the conditions were a significant factor in the game's difficulty and low score.

While there may have been colder ambient air temperature games during his career, perhaps early in the season or in northern cities, Candlestick Park's unique combination of wind and dampness made it consistently feel much colder (AccuWeather RealFeel) than the air temperature indicated, leading to many memorable, frigid nights throughout Mays' tenure there.

I suppose that wish is important to you.

BUF and its fans would focus on the playoffs. The division is unlikely for them even with a win. They are truly better off losing and moving forward. BUF has controlled the division for 5 years. Losing the division once is unlikely to put the team in turmoil.

IMO, if we win, Vrabel will NOT want to face BUF a 3rd time in the playoffs.
Bills might be the 2018 pats. not much going on in regular season except the QB and couple of weapons but got hot late and figured out a way to win. one big difference is we had a bye.

They don't have Brady.

i think their D is quite different than last time we played, poyer ,shaq etc didnt play i think. We will miss milton big time.

i am a bit biased but i remember during the brady years, eveyr yr these pundits used to say patriots arent that great this yr. But now, they are ready to pick the other team happily.

They don't have Brady.
No, they do not. They do have one of the best QB's in the current NFL.

LOGIC IN NEW ENGLAND ONLY
1) NE and DEN are the best teams in the AFC.
2) NE, coming off a bye, has a bit better than an even chance to beat BUF.
3) CONCLUSION: BUF is all washed up and not a good team at all.

My conclusion is that BUF is currently the 3rd or 4th best team in the AFC, but not as good as the top two.

I have stories like that. For instance, we Patriots fans invented snow confetti -- I think the first time was during Gary Glitter's "Rock 'n' Roll (Part 2)" at the 2003 game vs. Miami. Here it is again from 12 years ago, this time with Bon Jovi serenading:

I remember our seats being drifted over with snow where we had to dig out a place to sit. And that was after falling down multiple times on uncleared icy sidewalks/parking lots en route to the stadium.

At the Jets game in 1993 -- which we lost on two field goals, 6-0 -- it rained so hard you couldn't see the other end of the field. The coldest, of course, was the 2004 playoff game vs. Tennessee -- 4 degrees F. with minus-10 windchill. You didn't want ANY exposed skin that night.

Yeah, I'm not much of a drinker myself. Especially at football games.

originally on my response; I was going to use that Gary-Glitter Snow Confetti game (was that with? w/ Vrabel doing snow angel ) video; but switched to the snowplow as the historically older (MORE iconic ? ) snip. Good stuff.

As a perenially distant fan (only 1 Schaefer / 2 London games to my credit); I envy & also commend/revere those who endure the elements, traffic stress, etc to cheer them on.

This will be the coldest game of Mays [sic Maye's ] career.
Shoutout: @Tunescribe .
I prefer sitting in the snow rather than that 35 degree rain crap.

I am not so worried about it being cold; but the forecast has RAIN at just above freezing at the time of the game.

Maye had a problem in wet conditions the other week with WET footballs and was SAILING passes HIGH all thru the 1Q until the rain stopped.

So it will be interesting to see how he does in 1Q here. If he sails a few and Jills get INTs; that could take a close game in their favor.

Also be interesting to know if they try and wet some footballs down in practice this week maybe?

I hope the team (especially the defense) comes out with the same (or even greater) intensity they had against the Giants.
This. There was a noticeable uptick in tackling and hitting in the Giants game. The defense just took them behind the woodshed and whooped the crap out of them. If you could grant me one thing every Sun it's be for the defense to be that physical. If they are I don't see a current team in the NFL beating them.

Drake Maye, on playing in the heat at Miami: "I love playing in the heat, it's my favorite weather."

Drake Maye, on playing in the cold and snow at Foxboro: "I love playing in the cold, it's my favorite weather."

Drake Maye, on playing in the wind at Buffalo: "I love playing in the wind, it's my favorite weather."

Drake Maye, on playing in the altitude at Denver: "I love playing at high altitude, it's my favorite conditions."

He will be draining the hot chocolate vendors dry.

The mini Bye may have played a role there too.

IIRC, The Brady led Pats typically came out sleep walking post Bye week.

McDaniel's is coaching with fire. I hope to see something from the O that Buffalo isn't expecting.

I don't know what forecast you're looking at -- or is this just fearful thinking?

The NWS forecast is the day's high at 31 degrees (below freezing) and a low of 12. Morning snow showers, chance of precipitation at 35 percent.

Sun 14

AM Snow Showers
31°/12°

Further evidence you've never been to Gillette, a hot chocolate is $7.

McDaniel's is coaching with fire.

McDaniel's what? His playbook? His offensive assistants?

And who the hell is Victoria Laurie?

I am optimistic about this game.
I think that Lowe will hold up well against the Bills defense. The question will be how well will Wilson play since he started practicing again.

The Bills defense is susceptible to the run. So the Pats need to ABUSE them with it as much as possible. Outside runs to either side.. Henderson has the speed to get out to the edge and really burn defenses.

I also think that Maye and the WRs can have a good game.

The Bills haven't lived up to their hype. Their defense is barely top 20..

The game may be tough, but the Pats should beat them.

With Jennings still in Concussion protocol, Craig Reynolds will be one of the game day elevations. He'll handle kick returns with Williams in all likelihood.

@neuronet - Playing for the Division Championship and getting into the play-offs for THIS week, is a good thing. It's not "nonsense". It's an accomplishment that is needed to help them control their own destiny. What's nonsense is thinking that he should be looking ahead into the play-offs.

A loss for the Bills makes it much harder for them to even make it into the play-offs. They will have to fight against the Chargers, Houston, and Indy for a Wild Card Spot. It puts so much MORE pressure on them.
