Bill vs new regime

You guys upset we didn't overpay for Ridley? he's been unreliable and got a ton of guaranteed money. I'd would have liked to have him but with that contract Tenn is taking a chance, maybe it works out but the Pats did try to get him. Who else did they miss out on? Until we get back on track this isn't the most desirable place to play.
I’m not upset one bit they passed on Ridley with that amount of money.

Cant really judge without a full offseason. We’re only 4 days in

A lot of you were quick to kick Bill out the door. Hope you’re happy with wolfey running the show so far.
And agree…bottom line is … we shall see

Not sure about Onwenu … he’s extremely versatile. Plus he towed the company line, a trait Bill rewarded. We didn’t get Ridley so what difference would that make ?
No way Bill offers Mike that contract. Probably doesn't re-sign Bourne. Based on no top 3 rounds being signed for a 2nd contract since 2013, both Uche and Jennings walk. Probably would've signed more outside D free agents but not McKinney or Wilkins.

Oh C'mon slash who created this mess in the first place Wolf?? You know the answer to that question.

Don’t matter really when the owner is cheap, can’t argue the fact the team is near or at the bottom in terms or actual cash spending.

Screw this new regime, started with a 100 million in cap space and absolutely no improvement to the offense to speak of.
They filled holes. They started with these needs:

QB1
LT
RT
Swing T
3rdD RB
TE1
TE2
TE3
WR1

They did this so far:

QB1 #3 pick (bridge QB Brissett)
LT
RT Onwenu
Swing T Okorafor
3rdD RB Gibson
TE1 Henry
TE2 Hooper
TE3
WR1

They have to sign a LT and draft the rest.

They better pray they land Smith at T. Going into the draft needing a LT and a WR is bad roster management. They sure as heck aren’t finding a good WR in free agency.

It was definitely a weak market, especially after the teams got so much extra space, and it’s got to be tougher to attract free agents than when they were winning. But I still think they can maximize their spending by getting out ahead on Barmore’s contract, and maybe extend Strange and Stevenson for a couple of years. And try to set themselves up as much as possible for next years free agency. I have no doubt that many will think I’m batshit crazy for saying that, and will say that Kraft will never let them spend, but I don’t believe Kraft is going to tie their hands and make it obvious to everyone that he isn’t willing to spend to win.
I wouldn't extend Strange. See what he shows this year first.

I'm thrilled, personally.

Agree. I get that he's older and has injury history, but it's not an option, not to take the risk. He's the best LT. Need to sign him asap.

Glad we agree on something

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't thrilled with running back the same O. It just didn't work out.

I wanted Schultz, but he chose to stay.
I wanted Higgins a/o Big Mike. Both stayed.
I wanted Eleumunor and Smith.
I wanted Barkley.
I didn't want Bourne.

Given everything that's happened, at least the team didn't get worse. I think it marginally improved. Hell, just getting rid of Mac and Parker was an improvement.

Who knows, maybe JuJu, now a full year removed from his knee injury, will ball this season. One can only hope.

It’s just frustrating cause the financial resources are there. Banking on juju is risky to say the least, Thorton might not make it through pre season.

I don’t think we’ll bank on juju. This season is about Pop and Bourne leading the way with our rookie draft pick(s) gaining experience. Anything we get out of juju is a bonus.

Bourne is coming off an ACL tear, usually players aren’t themselves until 2 years recovered. I like pop but he was in and out with injuries, there’s not much stability at the position.

I honestly don't think the approach to the offseason would have been that different. The specific targets probably would've been different, because Bill wouldn't dream of paying a receiver what they offered Ridley. But with that much money to spend, and a mandate to spend a lot due to salary cap rules, Bill would've had to spent on somebody too. Instead of giving Onwenu his deal, perhaps BB gives Dugger that money, as an example

So with the amount of money Bill would have had this year .. he wouldn’t have kept his own guys? He drafted them, worked with them, brought them along. Now all of a sudden with all this cash they would be gone ? These aren’t all massive contracts , plenty of one year deals.

Definitely agree with this. Get some stability on the left side
