GRONK is practicing.

Assuming he's capable of playing this weekend, should the Pats play him at least part time?

Or is giving him more rest before the playoffs more important?

Rest.

Gronk is too physical of a receiver to not come back 100%.

I'd rather see him get some playing time.

If he is already practicing you'd assume he is close to that? I'm also not sure if he's been 100% all year.

Avoiding rust. He's rested for a few weeks now. If he can come back, he should play to, at the very least, get back into game shape.

I'm talking about gronk being healed of all his injuries. Getting Gronk's body fresh should be the number one priority.

The patriots don't need gronk for these two games. Gronk plays too physical to play with injuries and this is the perfect chance to get him 100%

When a bone breaks and it heals, the bone is typically stronger than it was before. Rest isn't important here. Getting back into football shape before the big dance is.

Gronk is a young guy and he's had a month now or around that. So you add the next 3 weeks and want a playoff game to be his 1st after that kind of a layoff?

Didn't gronk have injuries before breaking his arm? Gronk's could use the extra rest.

Gronk is also a physical beast that puts his body on the line after ever catch. They need bring him back in the last game to get him reps.

Not worth the risk to play him. So what if he's only 85% in shape for the first round game?.... Do we want another Wes Welker incident?

I personally think Week 17 should be the Pat's bye week. Play Matt Slater at WR and Mallet at QB. Let Vereen get some run etc...

Rest him this game and bring him back for the dolphins.

more rest. bring him back in the 4th qtr of the miami game. he needs to be 100 percent hip forearm everything.

If his arm is assessed and they reckon it's good to go then he should play.

Yes he did but as some one already mentioned, he already had about a month to rest those injuries. If you save him until the playoffs, while he might be 100 % healed from those injuries like you want him to be, he might also come back rusty and out of 'football shape'. In my opinion that could be worse than having him only 80% healed from his other injuries. I'm not saying he should play the whole game against the Dolphins, but he should get enough snaps to knock off some of the rust for sure. And if the doctors clear him to play against the Jaguars, maybe he should get a few snaps against them too.

P.S. I know that players still work out while injured to remain in shape. But many NFL players have stated that being in shape is NOT the same as being in "football shape" and that only comes from playing in games.

Being off for a month didn't stop terell owens from having a great superbowl and i consider gronk to me more physically gifted than him.

I'd sit Gronk against the Jags and then have him play a half or so against the Phins. That gets him as much rest as possible, while still getting rid of some rust. Knocking off the rust at the last possible moment, if you will.

I'd rather rest him one more game and have him play vs the Dolphins.

I think that Gronk along with the Pats Trainers and Coaches are in a lot better position to take a view on what's better for him than am I. I just want Gronkowskit to do what they agree give him the best chance to play at his highest possible level under the circumstances.

I don't see how this supports your argument. TO didn't play for about a month, about the same time Gronk has been out right now, and he played a good game even though he wasn't nearly 100% healed from his injury. Which is what you're arguing Gronk should to be effective in the playoffs.
