Best TE duo, 2 Gronks vs Gronk and Nando

I was thinking about the impact Gronk brings to this offense, and this last season gives a good sample since there was a Before Gronk, After Gronk, and then again without Gronk.

And that because he was the only good TE on the field.

It's obvious that this team needs a replacement for Hernandez, that used to cause a lot of mismatches, more than Gronk probably. Gronk is more of a brutal force TE, they know what he is gonna do but defenses are not able to stop him. Hernandez was hard to predict.

That being said, I think BB hit the top TE duo with both of them.

If you could choose, what would be more beneficial for the offense, two Gronk type TE's, or again a mix with Gronk and a Hernandez type TE?

From what I've seen from Riley Cooper this last season, I think he fits perfectly on the Hernandez role.

You don't really need much versatility when you can just overwhelm the other team with ability. I don't think there's a single team outside of the Seahawks that has any chance of covering two Gronks, and then there's the run blocking to consider as well. Playaction with two Gronks running down the field just isn't fair.

Two Gronks with zero hesitation. Then have an even split of:

- Running with the two of them mauling

- Pass pattern with one of them staying in to aid in pass protection (disguising which one).

- Pass pattern with both running routes (one up the seam, one on an option route out or in).

Run each of these options out of the same look, and what is the defense going to do?

Intriguing 2014 FA TE Prospects.

1) Scott Chandler Bills = would do wonders with Brady proven pass cather with mediocre QBs' that should tell you.

2) Jeff Cumberland Jets = Love his upside could be under the radar type.

3) Brandon Myers Gaints = Eli Manning made every pass catcher look mediocre in 2013. That alone is an excuse for this guy.


4) Garrett Graham Texans = I like the other guys better but Graham is decent, he's jack of all Trades guy but master of none.

I think any Two combination of these should fill the void until Gronk comes back they are leagues better than No-man or whatever his name is. Even though I am High on some of the Rookie TE's I would pass if we land a couple of these guys in FA and take our Chances later in the Draft. I think the 2014 TE Draft dept is much better than regarded.

He was quick and agile for a TE sized guy, but was a horrendous blocker.
His advantage was that he was a hybrid, slow and big for a WR and small and fast for a TE, but capable of the duties of either position. It created a built in dilemma for the D that gave us an advantage one way or the other vs however they grouped personell to defend the 2-2-1.
Actual performance-wise Hernandez was nowhere near the top of the TE talent pool. In 2012 he was a big disappointment in fact, failing to fill the void when Gronk was out.

Hernandez was a piece plugged in to the system that gave it some uniqueness but hardly a key player or elite contributor.

How people forget and that was when I said Hernandez was overrated. All this before he turned murderer.
