Bernard Pollard whines about player safety rules; calls Brady "pretty boy"

It really is amazing how you all think these guys just come out and say these things on their own. You do understand that they are responding to questions regarding to these things, right? I'm sure the question to Pollard was something along the lines of what do you think about the rule changes and has it changed your style of play and what do you think of Tom Brady?

These aren't just out of nowhere comments by Pollard or by Flacco earlier in the day.

A question for Pats fans along those lines: Do you actually believe Pollard's hit on Brady was "cheap"?

You know you're probably right - Some Ravens just aren't smart enough to realize how stupid they sound when they talk to reporters. We should feel sorry them. I see your point now, how could we expect a person to have any control over themselves when answering a reporter's question? I mean, imagine the mental anguish, the intellectual depth it takes to just keep your mouth shut. I give up - you're right, the Ravens shouldn't be ashamed they're brainless, it's hardly their fault.

Pollard's hit was cheap, yes, BTW. And you might want to ask yourself why Pollard's on his third team in just 6 seasons.

I'd love to see a jackass like Pollard say anything remotely resembling this when Brady's in the room.

You're right. I'm sorry for being such a jerk here.

You must understand how much jealousy there is in other cities for what you folks have experienced.

I don't root for players to get injured, but I will admit that if someone manages to give that *sshole thug Pollard an injury that makes him miss all of next season or more, I won't be shedding any tears, either. See how he feels about player safety rules then.

I don't know? Don't really care. They should be scared about how he can destroy them on the football field though.

I admit. Brady is the greatest QB in NFL history. I just hope my team's D can make up for the gas station attendant we have at the helm.

the ravens offense is not as physical as the broncos, and look at what the pats D did to them.....I think if it turns into a street fight, people would be suprised with the outcome

I don't want a street fight. It could lead to a player being suspended for the SB.

OK. So if they get into a fight at a bar then Brady has something to worry about.

Back to reality.

On the field is where they should be scared of him, since that is where the game is played.

I am not sure about that. Brady has got the reach advantage at 6-4 vs. Pollard's 6-1 and they are both about 225 lbs...Pollard is a defensive player, which means he is used to dishing out hits, not getting hit like Brady. So, while Pollard is the harder hitter, Brady is the one used to taking hits.

the reason pollard doesn't stick anywhere is because he is inept in coverage

if I had to choose a liability on the ravens defense that would cost them the game, it would be pollard

We hope he'll just have an off day this Sunday.

That wasn't the point. When you are an adult you tend not to say these types of things to other well respected adults. It wasn't intended to mean that Brady would beat him up, that is just where your mind went.

Pollard would be a tough match up. I am sure Brady could take Jason Hanson though.

It's okay. After all, you are only playing with ten guys on offense.

Another thing I love is the delusion that because a guy 1) plays football, and 2) talks tough, he's automatically a badass. Pollard's like every other mouthy jackass; he wouldn't ever say anything to Brady's face, because, in real life, Brady's bigger and meaner, and Pollard wouldn't have the advantage of hitting while a guy's looking downfield.

Example: I was in the Air Force eight years. I worked with guys from other branches all the time, and most of them were very cool. There were a handful of Marines who'd pop off about how tough they were and how pansy Air Force guys were. When I challenged them to prove it, not one of them took me up on it.

Why?

Because they were kitties, and talked smack to cover the fact that they were terrified to square up.

That's guys like Pollard in a nutshell.

Funny standard flopping here

Pats lose upset to Jets "We need some tough guys, some guys that will talk smack, and kick ass, we are too soft"

Pats blow out Broncos "We hate those tough talking thugs, we prefer our guys to be quiet and intelligent"

Fan or not it just kills me, if we lose this guys will be dying to get a Suggs on D.
