Well, if they played like this in the playoffs they would not be up against a QB making his first start and would be more than likely to make the Patriots pay for all of their mistakes. You cannot expect to win when you play like this, sooner or later it will catch up to you. With that being said the team will have a pretty intense week of practice and be prepared and not take lightly these next 2 games. I could see the poor performance as turning into a positive similar to what the Browns game was.

After every game I like to give the team a grade based on the performance of the team. To keep the grading simple I only offer three grades. Tonights game earned the team a W. Which is the highest grade. The other possible grades are T & L.

It's about perspective. The Patriots were fairly average in all 3 facets of the game today. Surprisingly when the game was there to be won, it was the defense which shouldered the load by continuing to do what they do. Sure it wasn't a great performance but it was a good enough performance to carry to special teams and offense.

Nobody in their right mind could begrudge a side for winning. Nobody.

I'm not begrudging them for winning. Neither, I'm sure, is Belichick. With that said, though, there's a TON to improve on in all facets of the game. Anybody that doesn't think that is simply kidding themselves.

I wasn't suggesting you were. There's a lurker who doesn't have much time for the defense making all sorts of accusations that it's their fault for making plays because apparently good defenses aren't allowed to have poor performances and turnovers don't exist in the post-season.

I agree that there is always room for improvement. Always.

I agree. Some people are just seeing the win and the stop on the last series as being clutch and coming up with a stop. What people are looking past is the previous 55 minutes of the games and what caused the Patriots to get to that point. It should never have came down to the last possession, and with the way they played the Patriots will not go anywhere in the postseason.

Healthy D-Line could have definitely improved our odds of shutting down the Packers offense tonight. FWIW, as well, the offense got a lot of help in scoring those 31 points against the Packers defense. Dan Connolly and Kyle Arrington say hi.

Well, one TD came on Arringtons pick 6, so there you are down to 24, and then the long return on Connollys run back set up another so now you are down to 17. So the offense really only put up 17 points. It wasnt the best night for the offense either, but the key to the offense was once again they did not turn the ball over and that will win games for you.

Im super negative, but look at the super bowl teams too, plenty of games where they looked bad and still won. Ex. Houston in 2003 to Tony Banks. Or Patrick Ramsey.

Aj feely did the same thing against the pats in 2007.

For some reason, backup or first time starting qbs perform really well against the pats.
