Mark Bavaro would have been nice.T.J. Hockenson would have been nice if we're talking about players that have never been Patriots.

His catch rate last year was in the 70's, I think 73%. That's better than anyone on the team, except for maybe White. Guy has good hands. All he needs to do is not drop passes and run his routes well. He can do both.
If he can give the Pats 3 good catches a game and some reasonable blocking that's all they need from that spot and it would be a massive step up from what they've been getting.
This is a tough crowd. Watson played great on Monday night. The fact that Brady threw to him on a 3rd and a 4th down play means that the "trust" is back. I give him a mulligan for the 1st ball that bounced off him. He obviously wasn't expecting to get the ball and it was his first game in a long time. I would expect his targets and catches to go up with every game.
Pretty surprising looking back that bill somehow viewed more value in Lacosse/Izzo and we almost lost this guy for nothing.
Already looks like our best tight end. Take away the drop and he had a nice catch on 3rd down and 4th down and was solid in blocking on one of sony's touchdown runs. Should only get better with more time
We will have ~$70m in cap space next year.we are in cap space hell because of AB fiasco. We got Watson back because he dropped price from $2.5m to $1.5m

We are not in cap space hell.
I have no idea what you are referring to. You could be talking crap like you do with AB every day.Clearly i am referring to this year. But thanks for your input.
As for next year, too many positions, including QB, are vacant do the $70m number is nonsensical

If spent wisely, $70m is a ton of cap space
What part of what I said didn’t make sense.

$70m can be a lot or too little depending on what remains to be filled. Once you give Brady $32m. Maybe extend Hightower and Van Noy for a year each at $8-10m. Maybe bring Collins back for $8m and not much space left. Maybe Thuney extension. And boom. It’s all gone.
