You ALWAYS play the snap. Any player trying to anticipate the snap is not doing what he is coached to do. That is not conceeding the los, otherwise every defense concedes the los.

I disagree. I would think that as a lineman, if you gain an advantage, you make use of it. If you figured out the snap count and you know it's not going to change, you would take advantage of that to win the leverage battle instead of continuing to key on the ball.
