Belichick puts Ingram through private workout - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

Patriots coach Bill Belichick is scheduled to be one of the featured speakers at the University of Florida coaches clinic this weekend, and he's utilized the trip to also take care of some draft business.

Belichick and Director of Player Personnel Nick Caserio put tight end Cornelius Ingram through a private workout on campus today, according to a source.

Ingram (6-4, 245) is projected as a second- or third-round draft choice, according to the Pro Football Weekly Draft Guide, which notes that "he has the potential to emerge as the best pass-catching TE prospect in the draft class with natural athletic ability and ball skills that cannot be taught."

Given the contract status of both Ben Watson and David Thomas, I can see BB taking a TE in the second or third rounds which is where PFW projects Ingram to go.

Not another Florida reciever... please god.

This one makes sense. He is a guy that fits what Pat's want in the seam. Is he healthy? That is what Pat's are looking at. If Pat's were to pick a TE day one-could Watson be used in a trade. Baker-Thomas-Devree-Listorti and a rookie would battle it out. Are we any worse?

Speaking of TE's , where is this guy supposed to, what round??

Maryland , tight end Dan Gronkowski. You should get to know the latter, as he's one of the solid under-the-radar tight end prospects in this year's draft.

At 6-6, 255 pounds, Gronkowski has the size to play tight end at the next level. Considered a superb blocker, he showed off some stellar hands in '08 ACC play. After catching just 11 balls in his first three seasons in College Park, Gronkowski hauled in 29 passes — three for touchdowns — in his senior season. Of all the tight ends at the combine in February, Gronkowski finished with the third-best performance on the bench press and the second-best performance in the 60-yard shuttle. Scouts are impressed by his physical abilities and see him as a student of the game.
